Friends, self-reblogs of your art or your fics are not weird or self-obsessed or shameful. I don’t know who started saying that and why this is such a thing, but we’ve always done it. Reblogs are what keep posts alive, that’s what differentiates tumblr from other platforms. I love re-reading fics because the author reblogged them. Many people may not have seen a post the first or second time it appeared on the dash or they’re recent followers. You didn’t spend hours drawing that artwork or writing that fic for it to disappear into the void. You're allowed to be proud of your creations. Reblog your posts, promote them. Share content. Please.

Men not being allowed to be emotional & rampant homophobia are the reasons men commit suicide 3.5x more than women… most men are given no outlet to feel feelings. To the point that they kill themselves.

This is a strong man who has been pushed to his limit. There is no shame in this man weeping, just as there is no shame in getting comfort from his brother. This does not make him any less manly or any weaker. The strength in this video clip is stunningly, perfectly manly to me. @warriormale could you please chime in?

For context: NY Giants wide receiver Odell Beckham, the player that is crying, was brought to tears after seeing a teammate, linebacker Johnathon Casillas, sustain a pretty scary neck injury.

The player consoling him is the Giants Punter, Brad Wing. The two are close friends and were teammates both in college at LSU and then professionally on the Giants.

Odell is one of the best wide receivers in the league right now, potentially of all time, and a bunch of toxic men that did nothing with their lives won’t even let him have human emotion. Imagine what they do to each other.

I was checking out at Walmart, and as I was reaching for my bags I said, “Happy Holidays!” And the cashier leaned in like she was sharing a secret and said “Merry Christmas.” So I smiled politely and said, “Blessed Yule!” And the look that spread across her face, you would have thought I’d literally stolen Christmas from her. If you’re going to make a point of wishing me a happy whatever-you-celebrate, I’m going to make a point of wishing you a happy whatever-I-celebrate, and if you think that’s wrong you should consider getting “hypocrite” tattooed across your forehead.

It’s that time of year again

A post I made has officially become an “it’s that time of year again” post and I would be lying if I said I wasn’t honored

what if public libraries were open late every night so that:

- children and teens who cant get home until a later time have a safe, warm, well lit, populated area to socialize, charge devices, rest, etc

- children and teens have a safe place to go to stay away from danger

- people who have jobs that take up most of the day would still have time ANY DAY OF THE WEEK to go use the libraries facilities (printing, computers, etc)

This is exactly what public libraries are trying to achieve - public libraries as a third place is a whole thing - it’s just that the funding isn’t there (yet).

Libraries need and deserve so much funding
