I know you said this is genuine so I’ll try to respond politely, but it’s antisemitic to ask if a jew hasn’t publicly identified themselves and/or you don’t personally have a relationship of some kind with them. most jewish people have very complicated and complex views/feelings regarding zionism, and/or feel anxious about identifying either way for many reasons, and it truly should not matter to goyim who is or isn’t a zionist. you can personally disagree with zionism if you wish, but it’s a jewish term for jews to decide what it means and who it’s for. I will not be labeling myself either way because of my own personal feelings/beliefs about the topic and how goyim have appropriated the concept.

the problem for me is that even if the protests stop and the wave of antisemitism dies down (I hope it does) I will remember all the people who stood by and said nothing. i mean most of my friends said nothing, didn't even privately message to express support or check up on me etc. so even tho they weren't out there chanting slogans or anything like that i can't see them the same way as before. same for so many ppl and institutions that claimed to care about justice but said/did nothing.

..2/2 like at my university there was a letter condemning antisemitic violence. (a very moderate letter btw that wasn't even pro israel or anything like that). and students could sign. i read through every name on there and almost all were jews who signed. and not one of my close nonjewish friends were on there. i can't un-know that.

there will be no return to normalcy for jews. life will always be different moving forward, regardless of whatever happens in the middle east. we will always be looking over our shoulders, with only ourselves and each other to rely on, because the people who claim to care have proven their word means nothings and they have no problem justifying violence against us. I’m getting tired of people pretending like a.) nothing is happening to jews, b.) that what happens around the world means we shouldn’t be upset bc “worse is happening to others so why are you complaining?”, and c.) nothing is fundamentally different about every day life for us now. I couldn’t trust the right wing evangelical nuts that make up the majority of my local community already, now I can’t even trust the few who are progressive and used to be safe. and apparently we’re not allowed to be upset by that or be afraid because…….palestine?
