It wasn’t an accusation, it was a statement, a fact. You’d sided with Steve and this is what happened. A trigger cause. There was a lull in the fighting, everyone turning to see where the crash had come from, the cries, the yelling. Your father snapped. So much in his life lost, he couldn’t bear losing the one person in his life he thought would always be there.

So he built you the suit. It took twice as long as any other, but he needed you to be safe. An identical to his, but better, safer. Connected to his own, notified him of the smallest change in your heart rate and blood pressure. This stupid fight wasn’t worth the risk, even if you chose the wrong side.

He could see you were crashing and there was nothing he could do about except wait for help. A worst nightmare coming to life. And it was all Steves fault. Tony wanted to keep you out of this, as far away from this as possible. But Steve gave you the option, he told you you were old enough to make your decisions, and you were left bleeding in your suit. Help came, but that didn’t matter. Steve hurt his child, his baby.
