Collab with the delicious All The D*mn Joy

This is a true story: a friend of mine has a gluten allergy and missed brownies. When I saw that @allthedmnjoy also catered to gluten-free without compromising on flavours, I just had to buy a box to see what they thought. This comic doesn't give justice to the sheer joy it gave to my friend who finally enjoyed a treat that wasn't dry or overly sweet like shop-bought cakes.

Pssst... You get a 10% discount if you’re referred by a friend (I’m your friend). UK orders only.

Im from Brussels (Belgium) where we have a large population of muslims and there are a loooot of arab women-owned salons where you just know that no man will ever walk in. Like there aren't even open windows like most salons have, everything is plastered (is that the right word? sorry im not english ahha). You have to ring to get in and most women directly take their hijabis off bc you know its women-only. I don't wear the hijab but still go there bc arab haidressers have magical hands Wllh haha

That’s so awesome!

this is perhaps an unbearably stupid question but your recent post made me think of this and rather than look it up I'm going to ask you. How do hijabi's get their hair done/go to the salon? Do you go to special Islamic salons where it would be ok to have your hair uncovered (probably not but this is not my brightest moment)? I can't imagine y'all are just trimming your hair at home all the time

Hi! It’s not a silly question at all!

I believe there are some salons that have facilities where women can get more privacy for their hair cuts by other women (maybe like a curtain or a wall?). I suppose it depends where you live, there might not be specialist Muslim hair places, but to be honest, if you can get some kind of coverage while you get your hair done the place can be any hair salon.

Personally, I do my hair at home lol purely because it’s money saving and I’m tooooo lazy to go and get it done professionally (hello, terrible hair dye moments!)

How long have you been illustrating? Like the year where you started to do commission work or sell merch?

Hi! I started posting my work officially in Fall 2016 but at the time I had no intention of doing commissions or even selling merch.

Towards the end of 2016 I received my first commission and one day decided to make art prints. Everything else just fell into place after that :)

Hello! i recently found your blog and i was wondering if you could help me? do you know of any decent muslim based swimwear shops ? ive been looking into it and I can't find any good ones, thankyou in advance sister

Salaams! Found this brand on Instagram https://www.instagram.com/sabrinecatswimwear/

But you can also check out Modanisa - they’re really well known and they ship pretty quickly (theyre based in Turkey).

Also, depending on where you live, you might be able to find them at Islamic clothing stores. I haven’t checked it out myself but places like Whitechapel in East London might stock them (if you live in the UK)

Hi! i love your page, any tips to do with hijabs and cosplay by any chance?

Hi! I hope I havent replied too late

There’s loaads of hijabi cosplayers out there (unfortunately I am not one of them) but I guess the main thing I can think of is try to pick characters who wear some kind of head gear (like Maleficent or a star wars character) but you can also use a smiliar coloured hijab to their hair.

There was a group of hijabis that went viral a few years ago for their cool superhero cosplays!

Excuse me,i just wanted to ask, would it be concidered offensive if i wore one of my friends Hijabs? i dont want to offend her even though she said it was okay im still kinda nearvous Nd dont wanna seem rudr by asking again

Heyy, it’s not rude at all!

It’s just a piece of clothing, it’s your intentions that matter. As long as you’re not wearing to mock/degrade Muslim girls then it’s fine!!

Just be aware that others might assume you’re Muslim so be cautious about doing things that might seem immodest like wearing revealing clothing or being at a club (lol) might get you some strange looks haha

But have fun with your friend and rock that hijab <3
