He's learning his name is now "Percy" &, responds.
He copies words i say to him.
Mainly being "what u doin" "good boy" "gimme kiss" (waits for kissy noise and says it again) mumbling other stuff..
His new words and what he's learning to say sound like "wow!" "Wiiiiin" and "barking" like woo woo woo woo, woo woo!
He's got his flying route in a decent pattern.
Has not bitten me in 2 weeks - mainly because we are practising targeting to a t-stand and building his overall confidence. We're not pushing losing his trudt by having him out around food or phones atm.
He also gives kisses predictably now and doesn't escalate in any distancing behaviours.
He has 2 baths daily and likes to have his toys rotated regularly.
For just under a month, I think things are progressing well. Especially considering his whole 2.5yrs of life has been changed dramatically by coming to our home. He's starting to show signs he is happy and comfortable now which is great.
He was never fully uncomfortable or nervous which is especially great for ringnecks who are usually flighty fearful bird so I feel like compared to av and lou he's just so different in that aspect. With them they were scared of people existing and took av 2 yrs to trust me and Louie 6 months as he was an "aviary bred" baby so it was pretty fast considering.
I love having a bird that talks. It's so entertaining. He gets attention to go to bed by saying "what u doin" and rocking back and forth - that's his "i waant" behaviours. Once he goes to bed he gravitates to one perch and gets covered. I think he was never covered to go to sleep in his last home 😞 so sad.
Anyway. Can't wait to see what else we get up to soon
