After many long months and many rewrites, I am proud to say chapter 19 of 273 is completed! Many thanks to @violetasteria for her words of encouragement and dream about this story that inspired me to finally get off my ass and finish this damn chapter.
I hope the wait was worth it, because this was the hardest chapter to write but also the most amazing. I can't wait to continue on through, and show you what I have in store. It's going to be a wild ride and we are on the down swing! <3

His lips tilt up a fraction. “Couldn’t sleep?”
“No,” she responds. She forgoes the tea and hops up next to him. Fingers twiddle in her lap, unsure of what to say. She glances up at him, a small gasp escaping when she notices the handprint tattooed across his face. “Did you deserve it?”
He winces, cheeks a faint hue of pink. He rubs the back of his neck. “Yeah, I did.” He regards her, frowning. Reaches out, as if he wants to brush the remnants of tears off her face before remembering himself. “You alright?”
She touches her wet cheeks, wiping them away. “Yeah. I deserved these too.”

I think the way that Sonic and Amy get together is that after Sonic just one day decides, "Yeah, I guess I'm ready to start dating her now," but like, doesn't actually think to tell her this. So he's just casually suggesting they go out to dinner and taking her out on little adventures with him and stuff, and Amy's trying so hard not to read anything into it because she knows he still needs time and just wants to be friends for now, and she's trying to tone it back and just enjoy the moments together without overthinking it, but he keeps spending more time with her and complementing her eyes and all this stuff, and she honestly doesn't know what to think about this.
And then they're just talking with someone and Sonic casually drops "my girlfriend Amy", and she's just like "DID YOU JUST SAY WHAT I THOUGHT YOU SAID???" and he's like, "Yeah, we've been dating for three months?" and of course Amy's like "What do you mean WE'VE BEEN DATING FOR THREE MONTHS???" and Sonic is genuinely surprised that she wasn't aware of this.
They have a whole argument about it but resolve it pretty quickly with a sheepish apology on Sonic's part. And they then laugh about it together for the rest of their lives 🥰🥰

Guys so I recently got obsessed with "Never Love an Anchor" by The Crane Wives, and then saw all its parallels with the fic "The Wind and The Rose" by @skyelara, and got inspired to write a Sonamy poem!!
The Wind and the Rose
There's one thing that you must learn about the wind
It is a force than cannot truly be contained
Wild and free, it blows anywhere it wishes
Seeking adventures that will never be restrained
As it soars across mountain, sea, and meadow
It may in its journey briefly meet a rose
Softly brush its breezes through its petals
But then blows off away, to where nobody knows
Could a ship ever really love an anchor?
Could flowing water ever really love a stone?
Could a fire ever really love a candle?
Can the wind ever really love a rose?
There's one thing that you must learn about a rose
It is rooted firm and deeply in the ground
It reaches up to stretch its branches outwards

it is literally almost 2am and im sitting here being scared of the united states like what the fuck there are so many people there!!!!! and they're all just speaking with their american accent like hello??? how do you not just laugh all the time. americans wake up and go to their american jobs and american schools that's so fucking weird. i imagine it as a fake place because it's where everywhere on tv is.

while the stray cat story may have circulated in 2020 and 2022, this story is actually from the Leningrad Zoo in 2014. (here's the original russian article as well.)
these two felines were introduced at 6 weeks old in order to give more enrichment for the lynx and for education purposes, however they got along fantastically from the start and were eventually moved to permanently live with one another.
a much less exciting story, but a much cuter one as well.
