Another Super Mario 64 painting I did for my fiancé a few months ago! It's his favorite game.

This was the most difficult one I've done so far and took me the longest, but it was fun to figure out how to do the bubbles, as well as using my finger and watered-down paint for a blur effect.

In-progress pics after the cut.

Und wenn du lange in einen Abgrund blickst, blickt der Abgrund auch in dich hinein.

And if you look too long into the Abyss, the Abyss looks back into you.

[Actual Dark Souls art from me? What a year 2024 is already!

I wanted to embody the theme of "losing oneself" by going crazy on my formerly clean-ish lineart with like ten different brushes. This was fun because it reminds me of the kind of art I used to make in late high school/early college; mostly monochrome and tons of different textures. I guess that style has still lived within me after all this time... except it's a lot better now.]

Castle Devourer NEOSQUID

When the Smithy Gang has accomplished its goals and a base in this world is no longer needed, the beast will pluck apart the stronghold brick by brick with its tentacles and feed it to its maw-portal; more materials for the Weapon Factory.

Exor's already pretty cool looking (if also a little goofy) so I figured I should do something with everyone's favorite inexplicable translation.

This is probably the last of these I do, at least for a while. Tried a few other characters and they just weren't hitting the same, plus I have to get back to other work. I hope you've enjoyed this little diversion of a project, though!

The Smithy Gang but fancy! Prior entries: Bowyer | Mack | Yaridovich

OOPS I played Dark Souls while still obsessed with SMRPG and it reawakened my love of fancy and elegantly-designed weapons… so like… what if Smithy was a little more into ornate elaboration?

Since Yarid is my favorite, I bequeath him with one of my favorite motifs (thorns) 🌹

Bombette partner image recreation as a Christmas gift for my fiancé, whose favorite Paper Mario is the first one! I used pastels, supplemented with some colored pencils. I haven't worked with pastels since I was much younger, and they are a little difficult to get the hang of- and, in my experience, easy to make unfixable mistakes with. Still, I did my best!!

In-process images (I should have taken more but I kinda forgot):
