I was listening to It's been a long, long time

And suddenly a Vanoé headcanon appeared

Sometime in the early 1950's, Noé is still living in Paris and now owning his own bookshop.

Closing for the day, Noé puts on his favourite vinyl record, outside the rain has scared away the pedestrians. He hums along to familiar tunes when the bell signalling someone entering rings, he must have forgotten to turn the closed/open sign.

"Ah, I'm sorry but we have closed for the da-"

"The lights were still on, everything else around the area is closed so I figured this would be my only chance of refuge from the rain."

Noé froze where he stood, that voice, a voice he hadn't heard in many years. A voice he was sure to never hear ever again.

Yet there by the entrance a young man no more than 20 was standing before him, black coat drenched from the rain. Face covered by an ungloved hand reaching for his hat, a hand no longer covered in blue marks. Under it presented ebony hair slicked back, no longer the messy locks that would so dramatically flow in the wind. And then, their eyes met. A pair of eyes that were no longer Astermite blue, yet held everything Noé had ever loved. This very being was still very much him. And the Vampire felt every emotion at once arise, yet every word leave.

Never thought that you would be

Standing here so close to me

There's so much I feel that I should say

But words can wait until some other day

Kiss me once and kiss me twice, then kiss once again

It's been a long, long time

Haven’t felt like this my dear since can’t remember when

It’s been a long, long time

You’ll never know how many dreams I dream about you

Or just how empty they all seemed without you

So kiss me one and kiss me twice, then kiss me once again

It’s been a long, long time

Coming back from the dead just to randomly say that Something There from beauty and the beast could be a Vanoé song (slightly modified)

Noé: There's something sweet, and almost kind

But he was mean and he was coarse and unrefined

And now he's dear, and so unsure

I wonder why I didn't see it there before

Vanitas: He glanced this way, I thought I saw

And when he saw them, he didn't shudder at my scars

No, it can't be, I'll just ignore

But then he's never looked at me that way before

Noé: New, and a bit alarming

Who'd have ever thought that this could be?

True, that he's no Prince Charming

But there's something in him that I simply didn't see

Dante: Well, who'd have thought? Well, bless my soul, Well, who'd have known?

Johan: Well, who indeed? And who'd have guessed they'd come together on their own?

Dante/Johan: It's so peculiar, wait and see, we'll wait and see a few days more

Riche: There may be something there that wasn't there before

Okey bye 🏃

!!!VNC SPOILER !!! I guess

IGNORE IF U DONT WANT TO GET SPOILED

----

So we know that Teacher has one blue eye, but not just any blue. Astermite blue, like Vanitas as confirmed by Jeanne in the manga. However nobody mentioned the color of his other eye

But as we can see, it's purple. Just like Noé!

Which isn't really surprising as most people was leaning towards that. BUT.NOW.WE.KNOW.FOR.SURE!!!

And somehow it's still shocking! To me at least

And my question is WHAT.DOES.THIS.MEAN????

Also he said he met Vanitas before in another form? Is that Murr? Is he Murr or is Murr more like a device he can see them through?

And shouldn't Murr rise suspicion for Vanitas and Noé now that they have seen they both have the heterocromia ??

And why and how does he have those eyes? Are they each one from Noé and Luna?

I dont know if Vampires can rewrite themselves to grow out a body part of sorts tho.. and Noé does have two eyes

I can't wait for tomorrow's episode. Wonder how they will choose to end the anime. And how much will be cut out

Funny that people actually think vanitas is going to kill noè or vice versa and talking bad about them because of it...

Just wait 'till you see Vanitas cry hard above Noè because he can't bring himself to kill the boy that is very dear to him. Just wait 'till you see how they protect each other with their fight with Misha.

Just wait 'till you see how they make up at the rooftop, exposing all their vulnerabilities with no fear, showing how deeply they trust each other. They are both hurt and sad but they are able to make each other feel assured that everything's fine, leaning against each other while smiling... with a bit of teasing... and laughs here and there. Tears are present but they are both happy.

Their bond became stronger than ever.

Wait until you see Vanitas personally making a tarte tatin, which we all know is Noè's favorite, as a way of making up to him and a way of saying sorry for all he'd done and said.

Y'know, Vanitas and Noè are both broken individuals but they heal and complete each other in a way that no one can ever do in the story.

Part 2 things that was cut and me just ✨rambling and shit✨

They skipped to explain that the automatons can be manipulated because they contain astermite. Which shouldn't really need an explanation again however that was one thing that I saw confused reactioners like "What? What's going on? Why are those things attacking Noé? Why are they exploding?"

NOW THIS PISSED ME OFF! I WAS SCAMMED, ROBBED!!! UNACCEPTABLE !

Noé remembering the night he met Vanitas however this scene looks more...something else, Vanitas looked gentler and beautiful? Is that really what you see, Noé? 👀 Is that how he looks like to you? Because damn!

How it looked in chapter 1

This scene in the anime I have to say was *chef's kiss* with the climax build up of The gears of Destiny as the soundtrack is called. It gave me chills! It also serves as a parallel of their first encounter in La Baleine. When Vanitas charged at him with his blade there too, almost slicing his throat. This time tho, he didn't miss. Luckily for us it was his abdomen instead. Back then tho The Destiny Waltz was the version playing. (Yes there are three different versions of this masterpiece and I am in love with them all)

Once again, ROBBED.

They could have shown us all the Vanoé moments again in a flash to deliver the extra punch. Instead we got this awkward still scene of Vanitas just looking mad. Not breathing or anything. Literally just one still frame with the only thing moving being the rain. That looked weird. But Bones loves to underplay the main relationship of this story in favour of a certain other one *clears throat* 🤷‍♀️

THIS

When Domi tells Jeanne she hates her, it's her younger self saying it. Tho ofc what Jeanne sees is adult Domi. And the conflict adult Domi is having with younger Domi who is telling her the dark feelings she (adult) Domi can't admit to herself she is having. She envies Jeanne, she wants her out.

It's a shame they skipped it honestly, it would flesh out Domi's character more.

This scene confused the hell out of me in the anime. While reading the manga I took this person as being Domi from when she changed to be more like Louis. Not this being actually Louis. She is in her own head talking to her self. However they used Louis voice actress (Yes its a female dubbing for him)

That really threw me off..

That was it for this time. Still think it was a good episode however I am abit scared for the last episode. So much to cram in in 23 minutes.. I hope they will do it justice, I really do.

I've watched ep.23 8 times at least or more and have to say that they did a a decent job with it.and it is my favourite so far because I like to torture myself. It had me holding my breath even tho I knew what was going to happen but seeing it moving and in color just brought something more to it. And huge props to the voice actors of Vanitas and Noé (Hanae Natsuki and Ishikawa Kaito) for bringing them to life the way they do, especially Kaito in this episode whenever he said Vanitas name repeatedly, the "Don't you have nothing to say Vanitas. Say something!!!" And the "My name is Noé, not 'that vampire!" I👏felt👏that👏shit👏bro👏

Now I expect Hanae to deliver in the very next scene from where we left off. I expect his voice to make my heart ache and hear the pain. And as well his done Tanjiro's emotional moments I don't think I will be disappointed.

Now.

For the things that was cut, one that annoyed me especially as I've seen certain reactors say things like "Why doesn't Noé just go and rescue Domi, why does he waste time on Vanitas and Mikhail?" - "Oh Noé is so dumb making things more complicated that it needs to be. He is too much in his feelings"

Well mother fuckers, he is on a fucking time limit. Just 15 minutes, can't suck Vanitas blood? She'll jump. You, Vanitas or anyone else try to harm me? She'll jump. You even trying so much as go near that ferris wheel and save her? She'll jump.

He is left with very few options if any at all! He is desperate and rightfully so, Domi means alot to him. Its only natural he can't stay cool and level headed. Hence why he begs Vanitas to just tell him himself what happened that day. He do not want to cross that boundary of forcefully taking Vanitas blood and memories. He is trying his best in a rather fucked up situation to still remain respectful of that one thing Vanitas had told him he could never have. He wants to save his childhood friend but not on the behalf of hurting this other person that clearly means alot to him too!

I LOVED the whispering of "Vanitas" but I was a bit bumped by the fact they made the screen black instead of showing the scene of them laughing together and the soft fond look Vanitas gave him in Gevaudan :/

They removed the "gender-not-really-gender-reveal" of OG Vanitas and how they got the name "Luna from our Vanitas.

We didn't get so much of Mikhail, his feelings , his hurt and betrayal. Vanitas who apparently promised to never leave him. As we see that is not the case... He (Mikhail) appears more careless and cold hearted in the anime, as if he torment people just for the fun of it. A full on maniac and that might be so but most of all he is hurt, he is a child. One tha feels abandoned, alone and confused.

We get some shots here of "that day" Vanitas admitting to Mikhail he killed Luna. And as we can see, water is streaming down his face. We can't see his expression properly, however I don't think that is the rain. Vanitas was crying. I also think that scene where he had already slain Luna, holding their clothes, he was in fact hugging them in their last moments(this is just speculation tho).

Also as we've seen with the Gevaudan arc, Noe doesn't have to be in physical contact with the person that he has drank blood from to keep experiencing their memories and FEELINGS. He isn't aimlessly fighting Vanitas just cause he as Noé is mad at him. He is experiencing Mikhails hate, feeling of betrayal in real time while fighting! He knows that but he can't stop, can't control it. The anime make it seem like he is just fighting because he himself is mad when that's not the case at all. Can you imagine not only dealing with your own feelings in a very dire situation but those feelings mixing with somebody else's at the same time? He is really going through it!

Gonna make a part 2

The fact that I have yet to find a Moulin Rouge/Lady Marmalade Vanoe fanfic is 🤨 we are in freaking France people it's perfect!

Where is Vanitas playfully whispering into Noé's ear "Vulez vous coucher avec moi ce soir, Noé?"

🎶He met Vanitas down in old Moulin Rouge

Struttin' his stuff on the street

He said, "Hello, hey boy you wanna give it a go?"🎶

Yes please
