So I just saw a post by a random personal blog that said “don’t follow me if we never even had a conversation before” and?????? Not to be rude but literally what the fuck??????????

I’ve had people (non-pornbots) try to strike conversation out of nowhere in my DMs recently, and now I’m wondering if they were doing that because they wanted to follow me and thought they needed to interact first. I feel compelled to say, just in case, that it’s totally okay to follow this blog (or my side blog, for that matter) even if we’ve never talked before.

Also, I’m legit confused. Is this how follow culture works right now? It was worded like it’s common sense but is that really a thing?

Saw a sharp increase in my follower count after posting this. The legitimacy of it is driving me nuts so I also feel the need to say that you can follow anyone on here regardless of whether you’ve interacted with them or not. People like the above mentioned blog are exceptions. Perhaps they themselves think they aren’t and therefore will act like they aren’t, but they are, trust me.

Just follow anyone you wanna follow. The worst thing that can happen is maybe getting soft-blocked by the other person, but if they do soft-block you, then they were never that worth following in the first place.

wow. really hope this isn't actually a norm taking hold with new users! this isn't facebook, you don't need to know people before following them

Best Pali orgs to donate to at this time? Am thinking PCRF.

don't donate to orgs right now, donate to people. gazans need huge funds to evacuate to egypt, get treatment, buy food and other necessities. it is the most urgent and the best way your money can have the most impact.

Tell me, dear author, if it’s not difficult, answer the question, will your fic be coming out soon?🥺(I apologize in advance for mistakes, English is not my native language)

Avatar

(Your English is great—Be confident!! You're definitely better at English than I am in any other language!)

And soon I hope!!! I wanted to have it out before March, then I was trying to have it out before April—School has gotten hectic unfortunately. On the bright side I got a nomination from my university for a graduate school scholarship and almost $3000 in money for research! But yeah school has been taking all of my time :((

I WILL have it out sometime in April though. Thats a hard deadline I've set for myself. Stranger will be finished and will never be an abandoned book, I promise!!

Shout out to everyone who makes this huge fandom a great place to be!! Whether youre here for only one version, a couple, or for all of them, you make this fandom a great place. We dont have to like every single version of tmnt out there, but we're still all the TMNT fandom no matter which group of turtles we love. We gotta support each other!

They were six years old. Sidra and Suzan we will not forget you.

This is not self-defense it’s cold blooded murder. How dare you turn away from a genocide happening before your eyes?

Oh yeah, the reason I'm not separating Palestine and Gaza related content from turtle account is why the fuck would I. I have so much love for silly lil ninja turtle Bois, but equally respect human life. So even if it's a major switch up of my reblogs I don't care because I can't just push and active genocide from my mind, and it's the least I can do since I'm in a financial situation where I can't donate practically anything. So yee, teetles & advocacy :]

anyone who has a platform and an audience but is choosing not to advocate for Palestinians is guilty. anyone who's turning a blind eye to the genocide is guilty. anyone who thinks what's happening in Palestine and Yemen is not their concern and does not affect them is guilty. this has far surpassed the stage where it was okay for influential people to not speak up. because frankly, it never was. whoever is choosing to be silent about what's happening is guilty.

Fruits, vegetables and wines from Israel are often wrongly labelled as “Produce in Israel” when they come from stolen Palestinian land. Boycott all produce from Israel in your supermarket and demand they are removed from shelves.

thank you @leandra-winchester for making the graphic above! if any of you are active on other social platforms, you have her permission to use the image however you want (no credit required)

keep in mind, though, that this isn't a complete list: you should still check the origin labels on other types of fruit and veggies, and see if any local orgs have produced a more complete breakdown of israeli produce that's specific to your country

Since I'm seeing several questions in the comments and it's something I've looked into a bit, here's some additional info:

  • In the EU, US and Canada, produce is required to have a label/sticker that cites its origin. (I believe UK as well)
  • If you're in the US, some of these produce (especially avocado) are not very likely to come from Israel, however, in the EU they can. Most avocados still come from Middle/South America, but I remember buying some a few years ago and only seeing the "produce of Israel" sticker at home. Unlikely doesn't mean never though. Always check the labels!
  • Dried fruits or in any way processed fruits, veggies and crops are more likely to be imported into North America. There should also be a "made/produced/manufactured in" line on the packaging.
  • As a rule of thumb, the closer to Israel you are - i.e. Europe - the more likely you'll find Israeli produce in your supermarkets, particularly produce that grows in a warm subtropical climate.
  • Produce isn't all that Israel is exporting. Here's a list of imports into the US by product groups. https://tradingeconomics.com/united-states/imports/israel So it's worth checking any manufacturing labels on products you want to buy. The same goes for the EU and the UK of course.
  • PRIVATE BOYCOTTS ARE NOT ILLEGAL! There are laws in the US and other places that prohibit or sanction BDS measures against Israel, but that only goes for public persons and companies who openly participate in BDS. As a company, you can still say "We got a better offer for this product from country XY", but you're not allowed to say you are deliberately doing this because you want to boycott Israel. As a private person, however, nobody can force you to buy anything or even control what you buy or refuse to buy in the first place. So don't worry about that.

@heritageposts Would you mind reblogging this again as you have a far greater reach than I?

And as heritageposts already said, feel absolutely free to use ANY info, text, and the above graphic anywhere, however you see fit (copy paste, modify, resize, whatever). This is not about credit and proper sourcing, it's solely about the cause!

I fucking despise when a middle schooler is like “I hate being 13.” and everyone is like “Oh honey, it only gets worse. You don’t know the meaning of struggle.” like no. Let’s be honest. 12-15 is a really difficult age to be. It’s usually when you start waking up to how fucked up the world around you is but you’re still so young and immature that you can’t begin to fix it. It’s a time of horrible change, mentally, physically, prospective-wise.

Personally, it was when the onset of my mental illness developed. My parents’ marriage dissolved in a series of drunk sometimes violent arguments, I was stuck in the house with them, helpless to leave. I would rather kill myself than be 13 again in all honesty. The best part of being 13/14 is that you’ll never be 13/14 again.

I 100% agree. Whenever someone younger than me tells me that they hate the age their at, I'm always as honest as possible about my own experiences. And, as someone who experienced some truly brutal stages of life at a very young age (7+), I've found that being an adult is infinitely better than being a kid.

My life is incredibly stable and I'm the healthiest I've ever been-- because I am making my own decisions for myself. I am healing and deciding what's right for me. I know what not to do! Yes, being an adult is hard, but being a seven year old while simultaneously being head of household was EVEN WORSE.

Compared to my life growing up, being adult is easy, fun, and (most importantly) safe.

Seeing this post makes me think about my childhood like my mom used say i was selfish and i dont think of her tho i had mental break downs that she still doesnt know abt because she never really asked if i was ok

Im just so glad that im now independent and i can actully get on with my life seeing that im now able to change how the world as appose to being a 14 year old feeling helpless like i cant do nothing about the messed up world around me

just reading both of these brings me to tears like there are others who feel the same way as me and i work as a student counselor who can help kids who feel the same way

Hey- you there. The teenager reading this? Life gets harder, but it also gets better. Nothing coming up for you is Dark Souls. Think of it more like Elden Ring.
