Random headcanon that general people don't realize Bucky's been freed from the conditioning and trigger words. It's kind of an inside secret, like Avengers Tower knows but General Ross and Others We Hate don't have any idea and when the heroes realize this they just RUN with it! Bucky plays condition-zombie whenever anyone gets his book and Steve, Sam, Natasha, Tony, they all just play along and then Bucky turns on the baddies like "Blah! It's Me" which he heard Loki mocking Thor over one day now he says it each! time! he gets the opportunity and Loki starts saying it too and the Peter and then one day Fury says "Blah It's Me" in the most deadpan way ever and Tony makes that his ringtone.

SEBASTIAN STAN as BUCKY BARNES CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR (2016)

kaeari: so i keep thinking about how, in the mcu, bucky and steve are only a year apart, so they grew up pretty close to each other, and roughhoused a lot because bucky liked to tease and steve wanted to win

So they’d wrestle once in a while and when it gets obvious that bucky’s considerably bigger than steve, he fakes getting hurt when bucky elbows him or knocks him around so bucky has a mini freak out, and steve takes advantage of it and it’s the first time he wins over bucky on his own terms and cunning

Then after the whole winter soldier event, steve kind of misses it when he sees bucky all listless and silent

I kinda thought that, as bucky slowly got better, he didn’t get ALL of his memories back, but his body remembered goofing around with steve so when they’re sparring (bucky needed the exercise and steve wanted the company) bucky fakes it, but he’s too good at faking things so he has misty eyes and looks genuinely in pain and steve just panics and apologizes PROFUSELY but then bucky’s got him in a headlock and he’s laughing a little (basicaly the second time he’s done this since they found each other again)

Steve calls him a jerk but he would never be mad at bucky because he’s got his friend back now D:
