Desperate - A Yuri On Ice fanbook

This spring I drew a 12-page comic (plus three pages of illustrations and a full-color-wraparound cover) dedicated to Yuuri and Victor from the anime Yuri!!! On Ice. When the show ended I, like many, were hungry for more--so I made something myself! I love how Yuuri and Victor are creative competitors, but are also each other’s support and inspiration.

I will have this zine for sale at my table at HereosCon (this weekend!!), Flamecon, and SPX. I *might* put the physical book up for sale this fall with some other merchandise, but if you’d like to own it RIGHT NOW you can buy the PDF on my gumroad here! (The two short comics are rated PG-13 for some *extremely mild* sexual content.)

DUE SOUTH

I drew this in a fugue state. It felt like the easiest thing in the world. I love Due South. I especially Love Ben and Ray K’s dynamic, and how Ray wears thick-rimmed glasses when he’s aiming his gun. I also love the manga FAKE, which always had these great flowery book covers, and i felt like these two things needed to be brought together. So here you are.

SKY // WINGS is a Poe Dameron fan zine drawn by Rebecca Mock (me), based on the Star Wars: TFA fan fiction "To the Sky Without Wings" by @leupagus. Poe Dameron first meets Luke Skywalker as a child and grows to admire him over time, and later comes to have an embarrassing (unrequited) crush. This is a tribute and homage to Star Wars: The Force Awakens and its surrounding fandom. It is a Poe/Luke fan comic. It is rated for teen-audiences-and-up for cussing and and underage drinking.

This is a 9" x 7.5" B/W zine with a full-color cover, 20 pages. It contains 2 short stories, 1 4-panel comic and 3 sketch pages.

Harry Potter, Hogwarts flying instructor & Draco Malfoy, Hogwarts Transfigurations professor

continuing my obsession with this podfic and all things Drarry, as well as thinking a lot about wizard fashion in general re: Fantastic Beasts (oh my god, I’m SO EXCITED), here are my two favorite wizards. There are rumors amongst the Hogwarts student body that professors Potter and Malfoy don’t get on, since they were enemies in their teens. Little do they know these two are thick as thieves and both love a good prank (and a good cup of tea).

I have been re-listening to the podfic of All Life Is Yours To Miss by saras_girl, read by originally. Of course saras_girl has written so many seminal Drarry fics, but the way Originally reads this one–with so much character and a poignant lilt that makes me swoon. I love Draco as a grumpy, put-upon Hogwarts Professor. I really feel his bone-deep exhaustion and his quiet, bittersweet longing. I love his adorable pet beetle Stanley, seen above (very roughly drawn) perched in his lap eating a mint leaf as the professor marks papers in his beloved red chair. I would happily draw whole scenes of this fic as slice-of-life comics.

Star Wars Day was yesterday! It’s come and gone, but let’s look to the future, let’s all pray for many many Luke-Rey training montages

I watched the {Game Grumps april fools vid} and this just...happened

I finished it! The Genghis family go to the farmer’s market. Mom comes too and everyone pretends they don’t see her lurking. She buys three scones and an apple cider. Doc Schnauz can’t really smell the mangoes, but he always seems to pick the best ones anyway.

I have no problem with original Mara Jade, who married Luke and became a warrior for good and died for a cause. She rocks. But it has been fun to think about Mara Jade in a SW universe with a new canon. What would she be like in if she never married Luke, and went off to be a fearsome chaotic-neutral space pirate queen? She’s always been awesome, she’ll always be awesome.
