Writers, it's okay:

  • to be proud of your own writing
  • to write something self-indulgent
  • to celebrate your achievements
  • to have a bad day of writing
  • to hype up your own writing
  • to be kind to your characters once in a while. ok? it's ok

Addendum: it is also okay...

  • to write and publish something that isn't perfect
  • to make mistakes
  • to receive criticism and incorporate it for the future
  • to ignore criticism
  • to get excited about your own work
  • to grow out of things as a writer
  • to save some stories for yourself
  • to write the thing
  • to not write the thing
  • to be gentle with yourself
  • to be honest with yourself - about the bad but also about the good (there's probably more right than wrong with your story)
  • to like your own work

Add it on in the reblog, kids!

The Forgotten Marriage - WIP

This story will either sit on my computer and never to be finished or be rewritten into a different idea in the future. IDK. Either way, here’s the second part of a Brucinette one-shot that I was working on before stopping.

They all waited impatiently for their mysterious guest. Alfred had gone to answer the door. There wasn’t even a doorbell ring.

Despite his father’s paranoia, Damian couldn’t find anything on a person named Callahan. He searched through all their databases. He even inquired the help of Tim.

It was no secret that they were all on edge.

My wife

Batboy: *Walks up to Marinette* You greet the peddler and his trinkets with the same delight as ever.
Marinette: They say that to see is to want.
Batboy: It means one should be wary of one's material desires.
Marinette: *stares at him, aghast* Hmph. *She places the earrings down.* How foolish I am to covet an ornament such as this.
Batboy: *Looks down at the earrings, and back to Marinette.* Choose whichever is to your liking. *pause* My wife.
Marinette: *Smiles brightly at him and returns to look at the jewelry*
