oNiOnhAsaEyOw chEenGOozS- okay, so i’m in a very crackhead mood these days. unsure why. dyed my hair purple. received three out of four packages of my journal haul. filmed part of my journal haul. i found out that i have no need for korean textbooks anymore now that i can learn korean on coursera (thank the lords i have yet to buy the books). and i’m quitting my job at cotton on because the work environment has gotten really toxic! how’s yall’s week going?

i got me some pastry bois for myself as a good job well done for getting myself through the day in spite of me being very sick. i stumbled upon a fortune cookie today and nearly ate it whole *cue that vid of namjoon*. my dumbass didn’t realise that there was an english translation on the other side and had to ask my better-reading chinese friends what it meant until one of them pointed out that there was that side. anyhoops,Β β€œbe more aggressive” is nowhere in my nature. someone pls give me instructions thnx

well this is awkward

hi again everyone!

its me, charlotte, back from my (very long unannounced) hiatus! sixth form life is really hard -so much work and more extracurriculars, jobs and even relationships have gotten in the way! but here i am, back to studyblr like i always am.

what this break has made me realise is how hard it is to create content for studyblr all the time! my notes rnt that pretty - i lose all of my highlighters and fancy stationary so theres no point in buying it, and i dont do a bullet journal (altho i envy those who can!!). i think my strength in the studyblr community is describing HOW i study - who needs photos when you have instructions?? so thats going to be mainly my content from now on.

i have rlly missed this uplifting community and all of my (now 6500!!) followers, and i hope i actually stick to using this now - oxford is still the goal and im going to do my very best to get there!

lots of love,

charlotte xoxo

πŸŒΈβ€’independent learningβ€’πŸŒΈ

on friday at my school, we had an independent learning conference with some rlly useful tips that i thought i would share! this is post 1/5 :)

speed and skim reading

  • to read things quickly, first skim read to get the gist of the text, then speed read
  • skim reading:
  1. read the first + last paragraphs
  2. look at any diagrams, pictures, titles + text in bold (the author obviously wanted to draw attention to these parts!)
  3. if you still don't know what the text is about, read the first sentence of each paragraph
  • this should give you an idea of what the text is about
  • speed reading:
  1. read in blocks of words (use eyercize.herokuapp.com in order to practice!)
  2. keep the text parallel to your face, around 50cm away
  3. run a pen under the words to keep your eyes focused (or spot your pen under the blocks of words you read)

by using these techniques, i improved my reading speed from 532wpm to 730wpm!! (approximately haha) they really work! hope this helps xoxo

πŸŒ»β€’ how to stress relieve β€’πŸŒ»

now that it's back to school season, here are some ways to stress relieve during the school term

fun things to do

  • spa days
  • go to the cinema
  • make playlists (for your friends, for different moods, etc)
  • go to the park
  • thrifting

  • spend time with family
  • draw
  • journal
  • hang out with pets
  • binge-watch your fave shows
  • be around friendsΒ

keeping mental health in check

  • eat healthily (but with cheat days!)
  • drink lots of water
  • have a routine
  • take days off
  • relax in your breaks
  • try not to feel guilty
  • don’t procrastinate!!

take the stress out of studying

  • get ready beforehand (snacks, water, clean space)
  • study with friends
  • study in the library
  • listen to music
  • use pretty colours
  • use fun methods (quizlet, teaching ur family and pets teehee)
  • again don’t procrastinate!!
