feedback.
feedback is very important when it comes to blogs who post content. getting notes is great, but it can’t even compare to the feeling of getting actual active feedback on your posts. constructive criticism, ideas, or simply sending a message to tell me what you liked most is always helpful and greatly appreciated. when people give feedback it makes me want to do more, it gives me motivation, and it helps me improve my content.
it’s not annoying, it isn’t a burden to the bloggers, in fact we absolutely love getting actual feedback, and most bloggers prefer it over just a huge number of notes.
i’m not asking for you to just throw simple compliments in my face or suck me off, like that’s not what i want. but if i know which posts you like the most and why, i can try to improve, i know what kinds of posts to focus on, and i can make the entire thing a better experience for everyone.
without feedback, bloggers can lose motivation to continue. when you never get an actual response, it feels as though nobody cares so what’s even the point? it isn’t as if after every single post you have to tell your favorite bloggers that it was amazing, but it would be nice to just drop a message now and again saying “your last post was great, i really loved the descriptions” or “x post was nice but it could have been better if you kept it a little shorter and more concise” would be lovely.
don’t be afraid of ask boxes. don’t just shower your favorite bloggers in compliments either, but give proper feedback. tell them why you like certain posts and why you may not like others. hell, i even appreciate when someone lets me know about a typo. i know a lot of bloggers, including myself, who lack motivation because it just seems like nobody cares.
i personally have never given a shit about the number of notes attached to each post. as long as one person genuinely enjoys my content, i’m happy. i would trade a thousand notes on a post just for a few lines of constructive criticism or feedback. i can’t improve if i don’t know what i get wrong and what i get right, and this goes for almost every other blogger out there as well.
