Gee, Tumblr would probably really hate it if you shared and spread this damning article … To the surprise of absolutely none of Tumblr’s LGBTQ users, it turns out the independent NYC human rights agency Commission on Human Rights (CCHR) found that Tumblr’s ham-fisted adult content ban in December 2018 disproportionately targeted LGBTQ users. The CCHR’s investigation revealed Tumbler’s moderation algorithms is demonstrably biased against queer content. As part of the settlement, Tumblr was obligated to review their prejudicial anti-gay moderation policies. Even more mortifyingly, they’ve also had to hire an expert on sexual orientation and gender identity (SOGI) issues and provide unconscious bias training to their moderators. I frankly doubt Tumblr has learned a thing from this humbling experience. Just recently the Tumblr algorithm flagged three ancient posts of mine as violating their terms. All three “offenders” were vintage homoerotic beefcake images (softcore by modern standards) roughly 50 – 65-years-old by Bruce of Los Angeles, Bob Mizer and Tom of Finland. (These are of course pioneering queer artists who routinely faced censorship and imprisonment in the fifties and sixties. Plus ca change!). They've been visible on my page - corrupting viewers -  for years at this point. I appealed all three immediately. Only the Tom of Finland one was approved. The other two are now hidden. So, they haven't learned much. Apparently, Tumblr – who loves to declare how hip, youthful, inclusive and progressive their values are - wants to restore trust with their queer users. I’d recommend we remember their hypocrisy when Pride rolls around and Tumblr splashes rainbow flags everywhere and attempts to pink wash their image.

In honour of Pride Month, this is worth a reblog! Don’t buy into Tumblr’s hypocritical “pink washing.” 

If you're an artist and are having trouble building followers, especially if you're new on tumblr or back after leaving, reblog this with some of your art. It will be visible to everyone checking the notes. Everyone keep checking the notes and follow whoever puts their cool art in them. People keep telling me I'm Tumblr famous so maybe this helps!

48hr tumblr blackout proposal

tumblr mobile has seadily become near unusable these past few updates. not just from a user experience perspective (which is important enough in itself) but also from an accessibility perspective.

examples include the new way the image viewer works (if you can call it "working"), the tumblr live button replacing the profile button, and that newly created blogs will be forced to have their main dashboard tab be the 'for you' page.

the demands of the protest would be along the lines of:

to protest against these usability issues, and inspired by the recent reddit blackout, i propose a 48 hour blackout (where you don't use tumblr at all). preferably of both mobile and web (since web has problems too) but mobile is the focus here.

I suggest the 48 hours between the 30th of June to the end of the 1st of July.

this marks the end of pride month (for the "queerest place on the internet") and the start of disability month (since accessibility is a massive issue here).

tumblr office is in San Francisco, USA, so the times and dates will be calculated using their time zone (PDT).

Lol, no, my parents browsed through baby names and they just particularly liked this one

2. When was the last time you cried?

Like, 2 days ago… I’m very into history and is currently halfway through the autobiography of a slave girl, it’s called “the incidents in the life of a slave girl”. It’s really heartbreaking and is a cruel reminder of how cruel humans can be when they allow themselves to hate. That, along with the knowledge that it isn’t even that long ago that slavery was abolished, made me cry

5. What sports do you play/have you played?

Like, part of an actual team? I was on a swimming team when I was 7, which was terrible considering that I was terrified of water. The only sports I’ve participated in since is friendly matches in football, badminton, rundbold (Danish sport), and stuff like that.

I think it’s their smile. You can tell a lot about a person from the way that they smile

No, my name is original because the night I was born, there were born other girls and all of them were named like I was supposed to, but my mom didn't want me to be one of many and wanted me to be original, so they changed that name a little. I'm glad they did because the name I was meant to be called I never liked. Sounds like someone is shouting at you. I hate when others call me by that name instead of my own.

2. When was the last time you cried?

Let's see.... Today's a Monday so.......

From emotions: Thursday or Wednesday or Tuesday. Or each of these 3 days. Had a rough week, each day sucked. Tuesday was the worst.......

Happy endings. Idm a bit of horror but I hate to be afraid. Also the torture(psychical and psychological) situations in movies feel too real and I hate being reminded what rotten existences are here. I met plenty.

High uncontrollable imagination. I can picture a lot of things but I can't tame it. Like, I could write whatever if I feel like it but I'll never write what you want from me. You want me to write about place in fantasy, I'll write about hiding in fantasy. You want me to write holiday blog, I'll write a short story of my OCs as humans writing a postcard to someone.

When I scribble I can see in crossing lines pictures, but I'll never draw what I'm supposed to. You see apple, I see it's tree. You tell me to draw snowman, I want to draw snow statue being build by others.

I can't draw or write reality. It'll never be as good as my imagination, because it's not my style.

Drawing, writing (both when I feel like it), listening to music, taking care of animal, creating stuff, reading, cooking, learning about mythologies(preferably North and Egyptian), painting (drew 6 canvas), watching movies and cartoons, etc.

I have a Pittie and I plan on getting a Boston terrier or English bulldog and an Iguana. And a Barn owl. And Sphynx. And Fire skinks. And maybe a turtle.

Used to be art clas(man I miss that) and nature class, now is Biology, AaR(Amphibians and Reptiles), BaM(Birds and Mammals) and English. And practice learning.

Working in a sanctuary to help endangered animals and do something for stopping of being endangered (for example: Pangolins are so damm cute and they are extremely endangered because of Chinese fake medicine. Their scales are keratin you idiots! Same thing as your nails and hair! Leave them alone fuck dammit!!!) and be a writer.

Not named after someone exactly, but i kept it in my paternal culture/origins, as it was my grand-father’s wish.

Friday evening from exhaustion and anxiety. Happens at least once a week it doesn’t even phase me anymore -but i still cry.

Hahaha -NO.

I do a lot of sarcastic character in theater and roleplay, but i don’t use it half as much as myself.

I am... not really into sport. But i do love climbing, indoors and outdoors.

i got a bit of heterochromia in a crown. Light Brown on the center, green on the border.

Both ? Many Horror movies have a relatively happy ending, and lots of action or ‘serious’ movies end up quite grimm. For real : I am a huge Horror movie fan. Horror in general is just a massive interest of mine. That said i enjoy movies of other styles like action, thrillers, fantasy movies... Okey, not that much comedies but it’s because my country’s sense of comedy is awful.

Everyone around me say i have a way with words... Really, i’d say the true talent is am passionate, and i love to share my passions. That mixed with reading a lot apparently make me convicing. (At least, as long as i don’t get anxious in the middle of it)

Her name is Pirate. So we kept her, made the operation and now she is a healthy one eyed cat.
