she wonders how hard it is for people in macusa to look up school records because for someone whoβs thoughts claim to not doubt that she has a brain, percival graves sure seems not to think very highly of the brain she does have. Credence canβt help the small gasp that escapes as Mr. Graves pushes him; he flinches a little at the sound as he takes two stuttering steps back, already a breach of the simple rules the man laid out for him. His hand shoots out, shaking fingers twisting themselves in the back of Mr. Gravesβ coat, holding onto him tightly, unwilling to separate.

sheβs pretty sure conversation like that is something that she should bring up with hr. she knows men thinkΒ all these things about her βββ that sheβs a ditz and a dumb dora βββ and that they wonder how a pair of legs like her even got a job with macusa in the first place, but they rarely every voiceΒ those thoughts. at least not while sheβs within earshot of them all. lips turn down into a scowl and she finds herself making a mental note to only serve the directorβs coffee at scaldingΒ temperatures ( increasingly scalding temperatures, too. maybe itβll only heat up the more he drinks instead of cooling down like normal. ).
