We need like “unclench your jaw” posts but for eye strain. Like

Go look at something 20ft away for 20 seconds.

take off your glasses if you wear them for 20 seconds

Recommended by my optometrist

Look at something 20 feet away, then 10, then 5, then one, then if you can your nose.

Repeat twice, then again without glasses.

Face forward look out of the corner of your eye. As far as you can look. Slowly move to the other corner. Repeat twice.

Look down as far as you can. Slowly look up. Repeat twice.

Roll eyes twice.

Close eyes for five minutes.

I do this every day usually at my halfway point. My migraines went away. My vision go better. Honestly stretching my eyes as she put it feels great too.

True story when me and Malcolm went to share a joint after a long day at Further Confusion. This fella comes up in a very specific kind of fursuit and I just couldn't say no to their request.

I've been interested in animal training since i was a kid. And with Dirac, I have an opportunity to learn from a pro. She came over yesterday and we went over a few exercises for us to practice together.

Helpful for keeping shoots fun for D and giving him tools to tell me "no. im bored/anxious, im done". And getting guidance on how to best socialize him so noises and strangers are no biggie.

Here he is learning to come towards a beeping sound. It took him no time at all for him learn that beep meant "treat here!!" despite the scary loud.

Hi! Is the book on the making of the pilot, which was one of the campaign goals, still in production? Will there be similar books about the making of the first and following seasons?

It's in progress! You can ask @clinticalthinkr about it, he's the one writing it. He interviewed the cast and crew and is doing the write up, and we'll be arranging it with images. But it's supposed to be more than production art. It's also about the hell of trying to make a cartoon the same instant lockdowns started in 2020, and how we coped during.

It's just taken a while cuz we didn't quite expect THIS MUCH to happen. It seemed there was constantly more to go in the book! We had to set a cut off point eventually.

i dont post pics of my caiques much because of the way people treat exotics as commodities online (and i detest the association) but for those who like them...

all three are doing great, enjoying fruit and sunshine every day.

online communities are so strange because people slip away so easily. you can be on here for years, folding people you've never met into the fabric of your daily life, and then they disappear, leaving only ghost posts scattered across tumblr behind. or their blog stays dormant, for weeks, months, years, until you're only still following them because you remember that they love sunflowers or they were kind to you when they didn't have to be or the last thing they posted was sad and raw and you still worry about them sometimes.

and sometimes they come back when you least expect it, years later, even, and there's this sudden rush of relief like there you are, there you are, even though you barely knew each other.

there's a strange kind of love to it. i don't know you and i want to hold your hand across miles and time zones and oceans. i can still see the imprint of you in this community you left. you don't anyone will notice or care when you're gone, but we notice and we care and we wish you well.

i hope you're all okay out there. i hope the sun is shining on your face and you are breathing deeply. i miss you.

As a former humanities student, I feel it is my duty to reblog this one.

A tech bro tried to convince me AI was amazing cause "you could make 30,000 screenplays in minutes" not realising that every single one would be shit, you'd have to sift through everything just to find some good bits, time wasted that could've been spent just writing a screenplay.

Technology Brothers know nothing about what goes into creating a work, other than the fact a work has been created to be exploited for cash. They see creativity as an investment opportunity, not a love for humanity.

Matthew Dow Smith: "Just remember: Arts & Humanities are so useless and pointless that Tech Bros were driven to spend billions of dollars to try and get a computer to do something that badly approximates something Arts & Humanities students could do half asleep and wired on coffee the night before the due date."

the plagiarism machine can pump out more work than me, sure, but that's just extreme inefficiency if it takes a thousand more attempts to get something i can do in three (three examples, one approved, refined, done).

clients deal with choice paralysis too. I get to decisions faster and with precision. And i can do it with less water, energy, and carbon wasted in only slightly more time and slightly more money than paying for each prompt and sorting them gets you.

And i can figure out what my client wants without having to receive unique training on what a finger looks like or how a circle completes its arc if it goes behind an object (already figured out object permanence...at infancy).

Raw output doesnt matter. If it did, I'd be making bank now already. Decision making, planning, and executing that plan is my job. All things computers are shit at. Because they're just a tool.

im not threatened. im annoyed. im annoyed i have to educate people yet again on their own psychology. and undo all the doompilling over this naked con artistry every time i talk to a layman or student. im annoyed that CEOs lack that education and so make work difficult by preemptively firing people, and they don't deal with the consequences of the mad scramble to undo yet another bogus decision by the guy in charge who still doesnt know how their business works. and im annoyed by showboats on youtube riding the wave for clicks and using their visible authority to boost this crap (either thru doomsaying or hype) instead of educating their audiences.

I'm annoyed that computer science education, which should be part of public education from 1st grade onward just like math, PART of math really, is so neglected that we have a population which falls for these scams because they think computers are magic. That advancement in programming and computing power is an inherent law instead of the result of human effort and research.

and im annoyed because the ways in which I, the artist, could actually use and integrate computer learning into my workflow are neglected. propreitary. and increasingly so because any serious convo about computer tools is gonna be set back soooo far thanks to hucksters.

i LIKE computer science. i think algorithmic learning is neat. There's merit in some of these tools for assisting with content moderation and tracking visual trends or advanced image search. But con men are selling hallucinations as dreams made real to the uneducated and arrogant to fleece them of their remaining cash.

please get interested in these topics, accounting and computers, to save yourself some future headache. There's actual nerds happy to talk about them in detail everywhere. Dont fall for this. If anyone is selling you a FEELING, be suspicious.

There's a bunch of adhd advice out there that's like "people with adhd tend to work better under deadlines due to the anxiety so here are ways to artificially induce a stress response in order to get you to get work done" and it's like well what if I don't want to be stressed out all the time in order to function

one of the huge reasons im suffering from chronic pain is because of this. that and ignoring my body entirely, treating pain signals as "laziness" to be ignored and disassociating to cope with a laundry list of issues.

kids. do NOT. do this.

your body is SMART, it is telling you things! stress has to go SOMEWHERE if you dont resolve it. In my case, in my jaws and neck and shoulders and chest. A day of rest now means avoiding a week of lying on the couch in tears from pain later.

There are so many ways to make moodboards, bookcovers, and icons without plagiarizing! As artists, authors, and other creatives, we need to be especially careful not to use someone else’s work and pass it off as our own.

Please add on if you know any more resources for free images <3

Hello! I was just wondering if the release window for episode one of Lackadaisy is still 2024? And should we expect the first mini-episode in the spring?

We're aiming to meet those deadlines, but I don't want to put our crew through crunch to do it. So if there's a delay, expect that to be why. We go as fast as budget and health allow, but we've done a LOT of preliminary work. Pretty much since the crowdfund money dropped into Iron Circus's accounts we've been full steam ahead on visual development and pre-production besides releasing test shorts.

That said, you can anticipate something fresh and substantial....soon-ish. We'll see just how substantial things get after that. Again, it really depends on budget and our crew's well being. And the more budget we're able to add to thanks to our shop and book releases, the more we can bolster existing crew and supporting staff. The line between our ongoing shop sales and that is as direct as a production can get.

We're also trying to fund additional shorts to give our crew more to do, so if you want to add to that and get more fun scripts with lore and comedy, then you can donate to Tracy's patreon. That extra stuff is paid for thanks to that ongoing regular support. And I'd hate to let these goofy scripts Tracy, Dave, and I cooked up gather dust on the shelf ;3
