Little Miracle
“Elijah, where are you,” you whispered as you wandered through the woods.
There was still no answer. Elijah has been courting you for months now and he had his sister Rebekah deliver a message. ‘Meet me at our spot in the woods at sundown.’ You have been waiting by the giant rock for almost an hour and he still hasn’t shown.
“I did not go through the trouble of sneaking out to be abandoned Elijah,” you whisper yelled.
You were sitting on the rock waiting when a pair of hands covered your eyes. You freaked out and attacked the person behind you. Using the techniques, Elijah had taught you a few things to defend yourself you nocked the person off the rock and they et out a pained groan.
“It's me,” Elijah groaned holding his ribs.
“Oh Eli I’m so sorry,” you exclaimed jumping off the rock and running to his side. “What took you so long?”
He let out another pained groan after you slapped his shoulder. After glaring at him for a minute longer, you helped him up and leaned him against the rock.
“Father was in one of his moods and I did not want to leave Klaus til I knew father was asleep. And do not be sorry. I'm glad you remembered the things I taught you just maybe do not use them against me,” he explained holding your hand.
The two of you sat against the rock holding hands til Elijah pulled you onto his lap where you were straddling him. You pushed away from him and looked around to make sure no one was around.
“Elijah if we get caught my father will…,” you started to say but were interrupted when he pressed his lips against yours.
“No one knows where we are,” he said as his hands ran up your thighs under your dress. “Besides it will not matter much longer.”
You tossed your head back when Elijah’s lips went to your neck and his hand cupped your butt. As he was kissing your neck he pulled you against his lap. You gripped his shoulders and continued to grind your hip against his as you kissed his neck.
“Wait what do you mean,” you pushed away from him looking into his eyes.
Reluctantly he removed his hands from your ass and grabbed a ring from his pouch. It was a silver band with a green stone. “Mother said the stone represents the heart and it's supposed to be a protection,” he said holding the ring in one hand and your hand in the other.
“Elijah what are you doing,” you asked with tears in your eyes.
“Marry me. I do not want to have to steal these moments with you any longer. I want to kiss you in front of everyone. I want the world to know you are mine,” he said holding the ring over your finger and waiting for your answer.
You were too emotional to speak, so you just nodded your head and watched as the love of your life slide the ring on your finger. You stared at it for a few seconds but were brought back to reality when Elijah’s hands went back to your thighs.
“Let's go find the priest right now,” you suggested as you grabbed his face and kissed him again.
“No one besides us is awake at this hour, love,” he replied laughing.
“Then we can wake them up. I do not want to wait longer,” you whined resting your forehead against his neck.
“We are going to have to wait. But I know how we can pass the time,” he suggested as his hands roamed higher and higher under your dress.
His hands stopped just below your breast. While he pulled back to look into your eyes, his thumb stroked the underside of your breast. A small moan escaped your throat driving Elijah made. He quickly removed his hands and pulled the dress off you. As soon as he threw the dress over the rock his mouth went to your right breast while he played with the left one. You ground your hips against his growing erection and brought your hands down to untie his pants.
“I love you,” Elijah confessed kissing the space between your breast.
“I need you, Eli,” you gasped running your hands through his hair.
Suddenly Elijah rolled you guys over and has hovering over you. Your hands went back to trying to take his clothes off when he pulled his shirt off them pinned your hands above your head. You let out a small laugh as he struggled to take his pants off with one hand.
“I could help you,” you teased lifting your hips up to get some sort of relief.
“You’re impatient love,” he smirked finally getting his pants just low enough.
Your eyes traveled from his eye down his bare chest to his erect cock. The tip was red and leaking. You were too busy admiring the man on top of you that you didn’t notice his free hand pull your underwear down til you felt him push two fingers into you. You let out a moan and moved your hips trying to get him to go deeper.
“First thing in the morning, we are going to the priest my love,” he said stroking that one spot that makes your mind go blank. “We are going to move to the edge of town away from my father. It will just be the two of us and I will have you naked on our bed every night til the day we die.”
He removed his finger but before you could protest the action he plunged himself into you and rested his two hands on either side of your head, freeing your hands. You took the opportunity to run your finger through his hair and touch every part of him. His eyes bore into yours as he removed himself and plugged back into you with an almost punishing force.
“No one is going to take you away from me. You are mine and I am yours,” he said picking up his pace.
You were too lost in the pleasure to speak so you only just nodded your head and dug your nails into his back so deep that you broke the skin. Bringing your hands to his neck, you brought his lips to yours and kissed him like it was the last kiss you were ever going to have. This man was consuming your mind, body, and soul. You found yourself doing things you were not supposed to be doing. It wasn’t long til you lost control and the pleasure of the act filled every cell of your body.
“I LOVE YOU,” he grunted with each thrust before his pace slowed and he eventually stilled inside of you.
Both of you were covered in sweat and dirt and scratches, either from the twigs on the ground or the others hand. He remained in you as he pushed your hair out of your face and looked into your eyes.
“You are the most beautiful person I have ever and will ever meet,” he said placing a small kiss on your nose.
“I love you too Elijah,” you said pulling him in for another kiss.
After another minute Elijah pulled himself out of you and pulled a blanket from a giant crack in the rock. It was a rather large blanket, large enough for both of you to lay one so the dirt and leaves will no longer be a bother and larger enough to cover both of you so you were not exposed to the world.
“Where did this come from,” you asked resting your head on his still bare chest and feeling the blanket.
“I had Rebekah make it so I can lay here with you a bit longer. I don’t like just leaving after,” he said kissing your temple.
“Rebekah willingly made you a blanket,” you asked skeptically.
“I promised to teach her some sword work and I told her it was for you so she was more willing to make it.”
“Well remind me to thank her. It is very comfortable,” you sighed looking up at the night sky.
The dark sky was filled with stars but it was a cloudy night to you occasionally catch a glance of them when the clouds moved. Being there in Elijah’s arms was so warming and after being tired from your intimate actions you fell asleep. You woke up late to Elijah stroking your arm.
He was kneeling next to you fully clothed holding your dress over his shoulders.
“How long have I been asleep,” you asked sitting up and stretching.
The blanket fell and was no longer covering your bare body. Elijah’s eyes wandered over your chest and noticed some faint bite makes all over. Pride filled his chest knowing that he had marked you. Realizing Elijah was distracted you snapped your fingers in his face bringing him back to you.
“Um four hours maybe, you should return home before your parent realize you are gone,” he informed standing back put and leaning against the rock.
He placed the dress on the rock and crossed his arms waiting for you to get up and walk towards him for the dress. He admired every inch of your body as you stood up. You grabbed your dress and quickly got dressed. Elijah walked over to you and plucked a leaf out of your hair causing you to laugh.
“How is it that you never get things stuck in your hair,” you asked grabbing the leaf and tossing it to the ground. “I always look terrible after.”
“You can never look terrible,” he reassured you griping the back of your neck. “And I take the leaves and twigs out before you wake. I don’t want to look terrible.”
You slapped his chest and started walking away from him. He let you get a couple of feet ahead of him while he shoved the blanket back in the crack. Once he was able to catch up to you he grabbed you by the waist and spun you around.
“Elijah put me down,” you laughed holding tight to his arms. You knew he wouldn’t drop you but you felt a bit uneasy not having your feet on the ground.
“Yes, wife,” he obeyed putting you down and kissing your neck.
“I'm not your wife yet,” you turned around to face him.
“Soon,” he said holding you against him.
He let you go but still held your hand as the two of you walked to the edge of the forest. The village started to come into view which slowed your steps. It wasn’t like you couldn’t see Elijah in the morning but he couldn’t hold you like you wanted him to. But that wouldn’t stay like that for long. He turned you to face him as if he could read your mind.
“Hey. As soon as I wake up I’m going to tell my parents that I'm going to ask for your hand. Then I’m going to run over to your house and talk to your parents. i won’t have to sneak off to kiss you,” he reassured you.
“But we will still have to wait for the ceremony,” you sighed knowing the two of you have to wait a couple of weeks to plan everything.
“Or we can tell them how I have already taken your innocents and you are carrying my child,” he said placing his hand over your stomach.
“Stop we do not know that,” you said actually hoping you were. “And my parent would poss disown me if you tell them I’ve laid with you before we were wed.”
You took a deep breath and took the ring off your hand and gave it back to Elijah. “You can give this back tomorrow.”
“Then you will never take it off again,” he said hating that he was going back home with the ring.
You woke up smiling when your husband walked in with a trey of food. He waited for you to sit up before he put the tray on your lap and got back in bed with you.
“What has brought that beautiful smile to your face darling,” he asked placing a kiss on your temple as you took a sip of coffee.
“I dreamt about the night before you asked me to marry you,” you smiled up at Elijah.
“And why would you be dreaming about that,” he asked smugly as he stole a piece of bacon.
“Maybe because over 1000 years ago today we got married for the first time,” you said stealing back your bacon.
Elijah tried to feign forgetfulness but you know Elijah never forgets a single anniversary. And if he ever missed one because a certain hybrid got made a daggered him, Elijah would wish you away for a little catch-up vacation. You kept staring at him waiting for him to give up on his joke as you ate the food he brought you. He gave you a knowing smile and got up and walked over to the closet. He came back out a few minutes later with a box.
“Elijah we said no gifts,” you scorned him moving the tray off your lap.
He gave you the box and took the tray to put it on the nightstand. You looked down at the box and then back at your husband who doesn’t listen.
“Eli,” you whined crossing your arms.
“Sweetheart just open it. I didn’t spend any money at all. I actually found it so I wouldn’t classify it as a gift.”
Reluctantly you opened the box and saw that inside was a tattered blanket. It was the blanket. The one Rebekah made decades ago. The one you thought was lost when Micheal chased you out of New Orleans 100 years ago.
“Elijah how,” you asked taking it out of the box and wrapping it around your body.
“Marcel said he kept some of our things that survived the fire in the basement and I decided to dig through a few boxes and I found it. There are a few holes and it’s close to falling apart but I wanted you to see it's still around before I get it mended.”
He noticed how you held your arms open for a hug and he pulled you onto his lap and you wrapped the blanket around him. This blanket was more than a reminder of the night he proposed to you. It was a reminder of your life as a human. Of your life back home before the world got flipped upside down and set ablaze.
“I love you,” you said kissing his neck.
“We go drop it off then walk around the city,” he suggested rubbing your back.
You nodded your head as you threw the blanket off your shoulders and ran into the closet to get dressed for the day. Elijah was waiting downstairs for you. He grabbed your hand and placed a kiss on your hand. You were holding a bag with the blanket in your other hand but he took it from you. The two of you were about to leave when you hear Klaus call for Elijah.
“Sorry Niklaus but I'm taking a day off from your problems and spending the day with my wife,” Elijah said still walking away from his brother.
“I just wanted to wish the two of you a happy anniversary and I promise not to kill anyone or make a new enemy today. My gift to you,” he said engulfing you two in a hug.
“How kind of you Klaus,” you said skeptically as you patted his back.
“Now off you go you two love birds,” he said going back to whatever he was doing before.
As soon as you stepped outside the house it felt like before you became a vampire. There was no one trying to kill you and life was simple. You enjoyed this mundane moment with your husband. New Orleans was buzzing with life. So much that you could almost forget you were dead. You pass street performers and artists and those men who present to be statues. There was no single aspect of the city you hated.
“There is a seamstress just around the corner, we can get some coffee after,” Elijah stated as he pressed a kiss to your temple.
“I never say no to coffee, love,” you responded pushing him with your hip.
He let out a small laugh and then lead the way to the seamstress. The front of the store had gorgeous dresses from multiple time periods. You were pretty sure you owned most of them from back in the day. There was one that reminded you of when you and Elijah had one of your honeymoons back during the renaissance period. It was simple and much shorter than was socially acceptable back then but Elijah had brought you to a secluded cabin so you didn’t have to worry about being shunned or judged.
You kept looking around while Elijah brought the blanket to the counter. He was handed a ticket and stood behind you while you admired the other dresses.
“I had this exact dress,” you said feeling the fabric.
“Do you want it, love,” he asked remembering the dress you were talking about. It was right after you fled home. It was the first thing you bought.
“God no. Today’s standards for fashion may have downgraded but I do not miss the corsets.”
You took his hands and lead him out of the store and straight to the nearest coffee shop. Elijah ordered your coffee while you sat down at a table by the window and watched the people in the city. You were pulled from your people-watching when your husband placed your coffee on the table and sat across from you.
“What if we went on another honeymoon next month,” he suggested taking a sip of his coffee.
“Oh how about Disney or we can go back to bora bora, no a cruise,” you said full of excitement.
“Whatever you want love,” he stated grabbing your hand and kissing your knuckles.
You were about to tell Elijah to stop being so lovey-dovey and pick a destination when you heard a child crying. You turned your head to the side and tried to focus on the sound. Noticing you focusing on something he tried to listen to but you ran out of the coffee shop. Elijah ran after you questioning what was wrong but you ignored him til you found the child. You were 3 blocks away when you saw a little boy balled up against a building crying.
“Hey buddy what’s wrong,” you asked the boy once you got to his side.
“I can’t find my mommy,” he cried lifting his head.
“What’s her name,” Elijah asked crouching in front of you too.
“I'm not supposed to talk to strangers,” the kid said sitting up straight and wiping the tears off his cheeks.
“Ok I'm (y/n) and this is my husband Elijah, and your right we could be freaks,” you said standing up. “Well, we are going to get ice cream I have enough for 3 people. I wonder who will get the last once.”
You grabbed Elijah and started to walk away but stopped when the little boy spoke up.
“I like ice cream,” he said wiping the dirt off his hands. “And I’m scared to be out here alone. I'm jack.”
“Well hello, Jack. Would you like to come get ice cream and then we can go look for your mom,” Elijah asked.
“Yes please, Elijah,” he said walking between you and Elijah.
The closest ice cream shop was a bit of a way away but the area you found the kid wasn’t the safest part of your beloved city. And you knew that if Jack was your son you would want someone to take him somewhere safer and help him. The ice cream parlor you found was packed with people but Elijah made sure that he grabbed a table.
“What kind of ice cream do you want,” Elijah asked standing and blocking the other customers from you two.
“Chocolate,” Jack stated excitingly.
“Okay, Chocolate and mint chip,” Elijah said repeating the order before he walked over to the counter.
“Eww you like mint chip,” Jack exclaimed with a look of disgust. “It tastes like toothpaste.”
“Maybe I like toothpaste,” you replied scrunching your nose at the child.
“You are a freak,” he laughed.
“No I’m old, old people love mint chip.”
“You don’t look old,” Jack said moving his head as if checking all your angles to see if he can find a wrinkle.
Elijah came back carrying 3 ice cream cones. He handed Jack his chocolate, you your mint chip and he had a vanilla. Elijah sat next to Jack once again blocking him from the other customers. Jack sat there happily eating his ice cream. You kept your focus on Jack while Elijah tried to see is anyone in the area was looking for Jack. After a few minutes, he shook his head indicating he didn’t hear anything.
“How old are you jack,” you asked handing him a napkin and seeing how his face was covered in chocolate.
“I'm 7 1/2,” he announced before wiping his face clean.
“Wow you are a lot braver than I was at 7,” Elijah said turning to look at Jack.
“7 1/2 honey,” you said kicking his leg and reprimanding him for jack’s sake.
“I'm a big kid I have to be brave.”
“Do you know where you live,” you asked him.
“I can’t remember the address but my mom is a witch and has a shop,” Jack said looking down a bit ashamed he could remember his address.
“I know a lot of witches. What’s your mom’s name,” Elijah asked picking up the trash off the table and putting it in the trash can right by the table.
“Well let’s start heading to where most of the witch shops are and when Eli finds your mother’s address we will bring you home,” you suggested standing up.
The three of you exited the ice cream parlor and headed toward the French Quarter. Jack grabbed your hand as soon as you stepped outside. Elijah was on the other side of the jack and kept glancing over at the two of you. The sight of you with a child hurt. Before Henrik died and his mother turned you and his siblings he planned on having multiple children with you. He never wanted the house he would build for you to be silent.
While you loved the decades and century you had with Elijah, like Rebecca you wished to be human. You wanted kids with the man you love. You had been pregnant before you were turned but a lot of things were lost the night Henrik died. You hadn’t told Elijah right away not wanting to add to his loss but you did tell him decades later while you were babysitting for your friend in the 1300s.
It didn’t take long for Elijah to find the address for Jack’s mother. It was a bit of a way away so Elijah flagged down a taxi and took it the rest of the way.
“(Y/n) do you think my mom was mad when she noticed I was gone,” Jack asked looking out the window.
“Did you run away,” you asked him?
“Yes, I wanted to find my dad. He left a couple of months ago and I miss him.”
“I can promise you that your mom is more worried than mad,” you reassured him giving him a small hug.
“Are you a mom,” he asked looking between you and Elijah.
“No, we can’t have kids but I just know. And you can ask Elijah I’m always right.”
Jack looked to Elijah checking if she was right and he gave his a nod. “I have always listened to her and it has never steered me wrong.”
The taxi stopped in front of Jack’s mother’s shop. He jumped out of the car and ran straight inside and into his mother's arms.
“Oh jack I’ve been worried sick,” the older woman cried.
Besides Juliette and Jack, there was an officer in the shop. Juliette had called the police once she notice Jack wasn’t in his room. You went to talk to her while Elijah told the cops where you found Jack.
“Thank you so much,” Juliette cried giving you a hug.
“I just did what anyone would do. You have a brave kid there,” you said ruffling up jack’s hair.
“Thank you (y/n),” Juliette said again. “I know who you are. I'm indebted to you.”
“Nonsense. Spending the morning with Jack has been a treat. You don’t owe us anything,” you reassured her when Elijah walked over to you and wrapped his arms around your waist.
“You just stay out of trouble,” Elijah said walking over to jack and holding his hand out. “Listen to your mother.”
“Yes sir,” Jack said smiling and he gave Elijah a hug.
After he let jack go, you and Elijah left to continue your day. Before your got too far jack came running out of the shop with 2 string brackets.
“Here you go. I made them myself,” he said grabbing your wrist and tying it tight. He did the same to Elijah then ran back into the shop leaving you two on the street.
You let out a single tear imagining what could have been. Elijah suggested we head back home and you agreed that you just want to be in bed for the rest of the day. As you walked back to the compound you started thinking about what your child would look like.
“I've always liked Bella for a girl,” you said resting your head on Elijah’s shoulder.
“And for a boy,” he asked turning to place a kiss on your head.
“I wish I could give you that,” he said stopping and pulling you tight against him
“I know but as long as I have you I will be okay. But it could be a good thing cause the kid would have Klaus as an uncle and he would turn our child into a complete nightmare,” you joked.
“You are probably right,” he laughed with you. “Klaus would make your life a living hell.”
The rest of the walk home was very enjoyable. It had become one of those days where the weather wasn’t unbearably hot. As soon as you entered the compound you heard Klaus and Hope playing in his art room. Elijah lead you up to your shared room and just pulled you onto the bed. He held you in his arms and you mourned the life you should of have.
Two hours later Elijah got a phone call from the seamstress saying the blanket was ready so he went to go get it and some lunch. While he was out you went downstairs to get some Hope time. Klaus and Hope were still finger painting. When she saw you hope clapped her hands causing the paint to go everywhere.
“Sorry,” you laughed walking in and helping Klaus clean up the mess.
“It's alright. How has your day been,” he asked picking the paint up so Hope didn’t make the mess bigger while you were cleaning.
“It's been fine,” you said picking Hope up and just holding her tight.
“Ah, I see,” he said noticing the tear fall from your eyes as you held onto his daughter as your life depended on it.
“We found a lost boy and brought him to his mom. I know it’s never going to happen I just don’t know what hurts so much today.”
“Well, I’m more than happy to let you take her. She is very exhausting,” he joked placing the canvas they were working on the display.
“I will another day just needed Hope's hugs,” you said tickling the 1-year-olds sides causing her to giggle like crazy.
“Hub,” Hope shouted squeezing you tight.
You spun her around a little but stopped when she gave another shout at the sight of Elijah. Hope basically jumped from your arms and into his. Since your arms were free you helped Klaus finish cleaning.
For the rest of the day, you and Elijah stay in your room. You stay in bed in each other's arms. Occasionally thinking about the life you could have had. But mostly celebrating how much you love each other.
It has been 2 months since your anniversary and you have been too busy to think about the little boy and all the feelings it brought back. Klaus was a man to his word. He didn’t cause any trouble, he let you and Elijah have a day. But Klaus was still Klaus and it seems like his restraint lasted til 12:01. And honestly you and Elijah were still trying to fix things. Had to stop someone from killing Klaus. Then had to make peace with the wolves and the witches. Hell, even Rebecca was peeved at her brother. But things were starting to get better except for you. There was something wrong with you but you kept it hidden from everyone. You felt queasy and hot and constantly hungry but you weren’t bitten by a wolf. There were times when you were scared to eat cause you knew you would throw it up. But it kept getting worse. You occasionally had trouble keeping the blood down.
After a while, Elijah noticed how pale you looked. Sometimes while you slept he would check your body for wolf bites. He even had Freya see if you were cursed by the witches but nothing. If you were human he would just think you had a cold but you did not and it was getting more and more worried. But he kept quiet cause you still haven’t told him you felt bad.
“Darling how was your day,” Elijah asked walking into the library where you sat and read.
“Delightfully relaxing, no one bothered to be today. Besides you but I love when you bother me,” you answered putting your book down and tilting your head up to kiss him.
Elijah placed a glass of blood on the table next to you and sat on the couch across. He smiled at your comment and thought how he was glad he told everyone to leave you alone for the day. Hoping you were just exhausted from all the Klaus drama and everything. “Well I did promise to bother you always and forever,” he said taking a sip from his glass as he kept an eye on you.
“Eli are you ok you look terrible,” you asked finally really looking at your husband. The skin around his eye was darker and his hair was a little messier.
“I haven’t been sleeping well that's all,” he said. And it was the truth. He hasn’t been sleeping well cause he has been worried about you. While you on the other hand have been sleeping a lot more than normal.
“Oh babe, why,” you asked grabbing your glass and raising it to your lips but not taking a sip yet.
“You know me, darling I’m worried about this family. It's just been a lot lately.”
“Well you can’t take care of us if you don’t take care of yourself,” you told him as he mentally scoffed at the hypocrisy of your words.
You took a sip of your blood and were actually starting to feel better but then your stomach churned and you threw up the blood you just drank and the food you were able to hold down earlier. Elijah quickly got out of his chair and got to your side as he held your hair back and stroked your back.
“Ok enough love, what is going on with you,” he asked taking his handkerchief and wiping the blood and other fluids from your lips.
“I don’t know,” you said sitting up as you started to feel better. “I can’t eat and when I do I can hardly keep it down. I'm sweaty and hot and sleep all the time.”
“But not bite. And your not cursed,” Elijah said helping you up and bringing you to the room. “I’ve noticed how you haven’t been yourself.” He replied when you gave him a confused look. “I’m getting you to bed then having Freya come to see if there is anything she can do.”
After he got you in bed he ran down to grab Freya. When they got back to the room, Elijah ran onto the bed and held your hand. Freya brought her bag of magical things and placed it on the floor. She got out what looked like sage and lit one end and waved it over your body. Her face contorted as she continued her motion and chanting witchy words.
“Freya what is it,” Elijah asked.
“There is something but it's not a curse its almost like an amplifier. It gives energy,” she explained. This go around Freya slowed and waved the sage over every inch of your body trying to find the source.
Her waving stopped at the bracket you were given by jack 2 months ago.
“What is this? Where did you get this,” she asked raising her hand and getting a good look at the bracelet.
“It was a gift from a little boy,” you said grabbing Elijah's hand.
Freya explained how the bracelet was charmed and could poss be the reason that you were sick. It was nothing like she has seen before.
“If you want this broken whatever this is you need to talk to the witch who spelled it. I can try to counteract it or slow it down but I have to fully understand what it is first.”
“So I’m a Guiana pig today,” you asked joking.
“Don’t worry love, I’m going to find Juliette and get her to take this curse away,” Elijah said kissing your forehead.
“Eli, don’t hurt her. Jack has no one else, besides whatever it is it can’t kill me.”
“But it is causing you to suffer. I will make things better,” he said giving your hand a mental squeeze and leaving for Juliette’s shop.
Elijah ran out of the compound ignoring the calls from his brother and sister. All he could focus on was his wife. He felt a rage build up in him that he has never felt before. Not even when his wife has been taken or daggered by Klaus. Cause in all those times he knew that she was going to be okay. He knew the danger but now he doesn’t. While it's not the white oak stake it's an unknown danger threatening his reason for existence.
When he got to the shop, Elijah was almost knocked off his feet by jack hugging him.
“I didn’t think I would see you again,” jack said looking up at him.
“I'm here to see your mother,” Elijah told him returning a quick hug and ruffing up his hair.
Juliette was standing behind the counter watching Elijah with a knowing smile.
“What did you do to her,” Elijah asked once he got to the counter. “What kind of curse did you put on my wife.”
“What are you talking about? I didn’t curse her,” Juliette said with a confused look on her face.
“Momma doesn’t do curses. What’s wrong with (y/n),” Jack asked walkup up behind Elijah.
“Always too hot and sweating. Sleeps too much can’t eat anything food or blood,” he said looking at Juliette like she asked the question. “Sounds like she is sick but she’s a vampire she can’t get sick. And there is something about the brackets we got from this store that is affecting her.” Elijah took off his bracelet and put it on the counter. “Whatever magic you put on these take it off.”
Without even taking a look at the bracelet Juliette shook her head and looked at Elijah. “It's not a curse it is a gift,” she said pushing the bracelet back to Elijah.
“How is watching her suffer in pain a gift,” Elijah asked raising his voice.
“I put a sort of wishing spell on it. When someone is wearing it and they make a wish with their whole heart it comes true. But the bracelet must stay one til it is complete. I’ve been watching you two for months. If what I have seen in your eyes every time you pass a child or a playground, it must stay on for the whole 9 months,” Juliette explained.
“What are you talking about?”
“She’s with child. You two are having a baby.”
“We are vampires. She cannot have one.”
“The magic in the Bracelet is powerful and only works for those who have no evil intentions. I'm guessing she feels empty without a child and so the magic did its work. For the 9 months, she will be half human- half vampire. And once the child is here the magic will fade.”
“What are you talking about? There is no magic like that. You are killing my wife somehow and I will put an end to it,” Elijah threatened with his vampire face.
“I'm not going anywhere. Go listen. Make sure the bracelet stays on. If it is removed then it will not be complete.”
Elijah didn’t want to believe her but he was listening to her heartbeat and it never wavered. It is not possible. Klaus could have a child cause he was half vampire half werewolf and it was the werewolf side that got Haley pregnant. But both him and his wife were fully vampires.
“If what you are saying is true I'm still a vampire I cannot…,” he started to say but stopped when he remember Jack was right there listening.
“Your bracelet did the same to you. Made you half-human but you don’t need to stay that way for long. Go. The reason for her illness is possibly not realizing what’s happening or it is her body’s way of sustaining the pregnancy. But I promise when the bracelet is removed she will get better but you could lose your one and only chance for a child.”
Elijah, still full of doubt, ran back to his wife to see if the witch was telling the truth. If she wasn’t he would do whatever it takes to get his wife better, even if he has to go against her wishes and hurt Juliette. Just as he got back to his wife he heard Freya talking about trying to take the bracelet off.
“It seems like the overflow of power is the thing hurting you. If we take it off, in theory, you should get better,” Freya said touching the bracelet.
“In theory, seriously sister your the master witch this should be right up your alley,” Klaus said pacing in the room. “And where is my brother.”
Elijah walked in and knelt on the ground by the bed. He grabbed (y/n)’s hand and just listened. He could hear everyone’s heart beating so he focused on how he is physically touching her. Elijah could hear his wife’s heartbeat. It was strong. He placed his other hand on her stomach and focused more. Her heartbeat started to fade and another was beating. It was fast. Over 100 per minute. Small. But it was there.
“Don’t touch that bracelet,” Elijah said snapping his head up and staring at his sister.
“If I take it off it will heal her,” she explained catching him up with her thought process.
“Yes it will but it will take the baby away,” Elijah explained this time only looking at his wife.
“What,” you asked placing your hand over his.
You closed your eye and focused and it wasn’t long til you heard it. Elijah explained his visit to Juliette and everything she said while you just listened to the impossible heartbeat inside you. He must have told everyone to leave cause when you finally came back to reality it was just you and Elijah in the room.
“We’re having a baby,” you cried holding his hand and holding your other over your stomach.
“Yes, it was a gift from Juliette. The magic is changing you so the baby can survive. If you take it off the magic goes away and so does this baby. It's possible you will be sick like this for the remainder of the pregnancy or you might get better now we know what’s happening. Or you can take that off and feel better in the morning.”
“You don’t want this,” you asked looking your husband in the eyes.
“Of course I do but it hurts seeing you this way.”
“Then I will be fine. This is what we’ve always wanted. In hindsight, the symptoms do match just at a higher intensity. I will happily let you baby me and I will listen to everyone else, it might be agonizing not being able to do anything but holding our child will make it worth more than all the gold in the world.”
“You will listen and stay in bed and not to ANYTHING without me or someone else,” he asked getting into bed and holding you against him.
“Yes, I will complain but I will listen.”
“Then I will happily hear every complaint,” he said kissing your temple and keeping his hand on your stomach and just listening to the sound of his child growing inside you.
For the remainder of the pregnancy, you didn’t leave the compound except for doctor visits. And while at home you could go to the bathroom without Rebecca or Elijah’s assistance. If you weren’t close with them before you were now. You still felt out of it but you were better than you were before. Freya gave you some tea to help and with a constant balance of human food and blood you kept up your strength. Even Klaus stopped angering and making enemies with every other person in the city. He knew what Elijah felt. The anxiety of being a father of know how danger lurks on every corner. Klaus was on his best behavior so Elijah didn’t have to leave your side.
And when the baby did come you felt a million times better whether it was because the magic was complete and was no longer half vampire half human or you were able to hold your beautiful baby boy in your arms you couldn’t say and you didn’t care. As soon as Oliver Henry Mikaelson was in your arms Elijah cut the bracelet off not wanting any lingering magic to weaken you. While he looked down at his little miracle he never wants you to see you so weak again.
