Ugh, this game! ๐Ÿ˜ Also, hi! It's been... a while. But with Starfield on the horizon and a brand-new gaming PC on my desk (that I built with my own bare hands, tears were shed) - I'm back!

So to pass the time until September 6th, I decided to check out the Palia open beta (I've had this game on my radar for a year or so), and it's got me hooked. It's kind of like Stardew Valley x Animal Crossing (gameplay-wise) and Ghibli x WoW (art style-wise) and I'm very much here for it.

I've been playing for a few days now and I really like the cosy vibe, charming NPC's, cute home decor and fishing & cooking skills. That being said, there's a few downsides, like the insane (vanity) store prices and the lack of basic functions (just let me sit on my chairs and zoom the camera in and out!). I also wish there was more to the MMO element, there's no real need to group up and servers are small (25). Also, the world is not that big, although this doesn't necessarily have to be problematic (think Stardew) and the game is still in beta of course.

Thinking about trying out Palia? Use my referral link and we both get cute stuff > https://accounts.palia.com/sign-up?referral=8fb97384-7abb-465e-be88-075b63b75cb8 ๐ŸŽ (It's free!)

Already playing? Add me as a friend (Cecelia Snow)!

I know Simblr is probably not the place for this, but my heart feels so heavy these past few days. I hope I've tagged this appropriately.

Just days after I was born (late October 1989) the Berlin Wall fell. I grew up in the safe and prosperous nineties. During my childhood, war was something intangible that happened in faraway countries and was seen only on the 8 o'clock news.

My son was born in December 2020, amidst a pandemic. Right now, a war is being waged against innocent people and democracy. The world is reverting to the Cold War era and I fear for its future.

My heart bleeds for the Ukrainian mothers taking refuge in hospital basements with their newborns. For the brave men and women fighting for peace and democracy. For the peaceful citizens confronted with a war nobody wishes to fight. For the indoctrinated men who die on behalf of a madman. For their mothers. For the heroic Ukrainian government, who have shown the whole world what true leadership looks like.

๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ’› To my Ukrainian followers: stay strong and be safe. The world is on your side and good will prevail. Slava Ukraini ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ฆ๐Ÿ•Š
