Regarding Hurricane Laura:
We live in Lake Charles, LA, moved back from Washington State in early winter. We bailed the moment they said “cat 4”, folks... listen, if you’re anywhere near that, or if you need help later on, let me know. I’ll do what I can when I get back around, but I don’t know what it’s going to be like, I have no idea what the neighborhoods, or even our place is going to look like, or if we’ll have one. When I heard the national weather station say the words “stronger than Rita, and Katrina” I literally froze for a moment. 15 years ago, Rita devastated our neighborhood, wrecked my parents place, and my now fiancé lost a great deal, of not everything. To live through it all again, and to hear that this storm, this monstrous hurricane is stronger than those two, it’s likely the scariest thing I’ve heard in my adult life.
Stay safe, stay as chill as you can. Love you all.
