What we’re witnessing with Gwen and Miles is what should have also happened with Finn and Rey.

It’s honestly insane how hard people gas lit everyone for years that it would’ve been impossible for both Finn and Rey to be equals and have an emotional journey together while also exploring each as individuals, their families and personal arcs…and then Spider-Verse comes along and proves what all of knew from the start. It was always just racism and/or a biased to keep the two characters apart regardless of how much it destroyed the story of the trilogy and ruined what could’ve been a great story

I’m happy that Miles and Gwen at least are getting their story told and it looks like cooperate meddling and chronically online shippers won’t ruin it…but damn. Finn and Rey really deserved better

finnrey could’ve been THE canon ship. the handsome, courageous, selfless, respectful hero of the story finn complimenting the daring, strong, self reliant, compassionate warrior rey had so much potential story!! the co-protagonists that are intertwined by the narrative and dont have a forced connection we wouldve had it all
