The dude who shot up two mosques in Christchurch New Zealand did so for two reasons: because he is a racist fucker, and because he wants to be a famous shooter. So don’t give him that. Don’t say his name, don’t share his face. Let him be a nameless, faceless nobody. Share the names of those he killed – remember them. But make the shooter as unknown as possible. He doesn’t deserve to have his name known.
Everyone, I am in tears. 10 minutes away from my apartment in Christchurch, New Zealand, a shooting happened at the mosque. A gunman opened fire on the Muslims 10 minutes after Friday Prayer began. Another mosque was targeted and a hospital in Christchurch. There is no gun violence in New Zealand, and I am absolutely shocked at the horror of this event.
