hello! first of all i just want to say how breathtaking all your art is. secondly, i have a question about your shading technique. in this piece for example, instagram /p/BnHxB3JFVSy (i can't send the link) do you blend to achieve that shade or is it hatching? i have a lot of trouble with shading and yours look always amazing!! i use a blending stump but i honestly can't figure it out. thank you so much for your time!

hey, so I think I can explain it? when I shade sketches I use a mix of blending and hatching on top (because I like to have texture)

so for a quick example, I map out where the shadows are and throw down some rough hatching

I then blend/soften that a little bit with either a blending stump or brush

and then I go back and add hatching on top and start to build up value with the hatching.
