Ranking the Hargreeves based on how strong I think they’ll be without powers:

1. Five - I mean, he’s a highly trained assassin and has experienced the most out of the siblings

2. Luther - He’s pretty experienced in fighting and whatnot

3. Diego - Same thing as Luther

4. Allison - She seemed pretty aggressive in season 3 😟

5. Klaus - He definitely doesn’t seem aggressive or violent but would fight good if he had to

6. Ben - He’s too cutie patootie 🥺

7. Viktor - I’m only saying this because he wasn’t trained like the others were, I think he’d be higher if he was trained

Lila: Diego is missing, I need you to find him.

Five, sarcastically: What, do you think I have all my siblings microchiped?

Lila: Do you?

Five:

Lila:

Five, with a sigh: Okay, yes. Yes, I do. Hold on.

Book Review: The Hero and the Crown by Robin McKinley

Image

★★★★★

"I love you. I will love you till the stars crumble, which is a less idle threat than is usual to lovers on parting."

A classic fantasy novel, The Hero and the Crown holds up so well, and I think I love it more than the first time.

In the kingdom of Damar, Aerin knows she is not well-loved - though she may be the daughter of the king, she is also the daughter of a woman the kingdom thought of as a witch. She can't practice the magic of the royal family, and she is looked down upon by her people and relatives alike. But Aerin is sure that she destined for more than regular royal politics - but she never would have expected what it truly might be.

I love Aerin so much! She is very imperfect, but when she gets passionate about something, she follows it through wholeheartedly. And she's a dragon slayer - what more could you want in a protagonist??

There are some clichés in this book for sure, and one of the big plot reveals really should have been set up earlier, but honestly? This book makes me feel too happy for me to complain - whether I'm laughing at Tor's obvious feelings or Luthe's sarcastic remarks, I can't help but feel empowered by this story of a young woman who becomes so much more than she ever believed she could.

There's something so bittersweet about the childhood flashbacks in tua. They were all children together. Reginald was horrible, but they had each other. And then everything went to shit. Five's 13 year old body a bitter reminder of what once was. His siblings in their adult bodies a reminder of how things should've been. God,,,,

I've said this before and I'll say it again: it's more important to know and understand fully why something is harmful than it is to drop everything deemed problematic. It's performative and does nothing. People wonder why nobody has critical thinking skills and this is part of it because no one knows how to simousltansly critique and consume media. You need to use discernment.

This is ultimately why propaganda is going to work on you. Because you never learned how to think for yourself and the actual ideology behind things. You simply rely on group think and the bare minimum explanations to tell you what's good and bad.

I rewatch the episode where they manage to contain the kugelblitz inside Christopher and party after — and Ben keeps pouring drinks into Five's glass. It makes me wonder if he really knows that Five is technically 58 or he didn't and just thought that this 13 year old boy really deserves a drink after that shit 💀
