Sorry I’ll never hate Adrian because one thing he does is actually writes episodes with perspectives that aren’t explicitly stated from early on in the show, that fans have just pieced together from knowing and understanding the characters. He did it with Spencer’s grief episode by connecting death to his abandonment issues and he did it again tonight with Olivia AND Grace. I have been saying for yearssss that Liv did not deal with that affair properly. She was literally checking for every one else but herself at that time. She checked on Layla and found out she trashed her house so she zeroed in on her in season 2. She was constantly clocking Jordan for acting out because of the affair and the separation. She was worried about Spencer and his living situation. She was worried about Billy and his job and making sure he didn’t hit rock bottom. She was worried about how sad Laura was. There was not a moment between when Liv found out about that affair and tonight’s episode where she ACTUALLY addressed it for herself. And I used to say that affair and the separation in general is one of the many things that happened in late season 1/season 2 that pushed her to relapse. Because she never processed it. I’m glad Adrian gave her that with Grace of all people and I’m glad he gave Grace her moment to grieve Billy

Got on my Spencer James defense uniform today because y’all not bout to piss me off. What we not gon do is make Spencer feel guilty for dreaming big OR for being the best on that field. Because he’s right and he’s allowed to say it. The man saved 3 different football programs. Carried them straight to state. Got shot and came back better than ever. And y’all want him to be humbled??? HE IS THE BEST. Jordan and whoever else just gotta suck it up. Remember, no weapon formed against Spencer James shall prosper

I know I said I was going into this season without complaints so this will be the first and the last but what’s going on in the AA camp? Where the hell are Daniel and Sam in all their promotional videos? I’m assuming they weren’t on set or they were filming or something but I thought they would just wait until they’re free to get some footage of them answering questions. The absence is noticeable. You can’t say you’re going back to the roots of season 1 and have NO promo of the man the show is about. Daniel’s absence is somewhat understandable because he hates doing shit like that but not even Sam?? Your engagement is low because you’re not showing what people care about like… JOJO… HAVE YOU LEARNED NOTHING

AA needs to clean house but if I were to get rid of 3 people first, it would be Patience, JJ and Asher. Think about it. Coop as annoying as she is, is Spencer’s best friend. I have my own issues with her but I don’t need Spencer to feel abandoned by another important person in his life, so she has to stay. Layla is boring as hell with this music shit but she’s basically just a love interest now anyway so once Jordan is here, she is as well. Patience has become so unbelievably insufferable that I actually hate seeing her on my screen. She’s depressing. She’s boring. She has no purpose. She brings nothing to the show. She needs to go. JJ also has no purpose. Had they kept him recurring and just brought him in for fun the way they do with Denise and the moms, then it would be fun. But they butchered his character and I have no interest in watching him get peer pressured every week or pretend to take football seriously. He needs to go. Asher is just too far removed from the plot at this point. And I actually don’t mind him and Jaymee. They kinda cute. But he’s boring now. Sorry to say. The downfall of a villain having growth in tv shows sometimes is they become boring. And that has happened to Asher. He can go and come back twice next season so the boys can babysit or something. With the amount of screentime these 3 characters get, imagine if they weren’t here and that time was replaced with actual college stuff or Spencer’s progression as an athlete. In the words of MLK I have a dream!!!!

I'm glad that the show didn't gloss over the social scorn Olivia would face as a consequence of the article.

That said, Liv handled it so well! Think about it...

Her first bid for social acceptance on campus is rudely rejected. Instead of crawling back into her shell, she takes the punches & moves on.

She gets lambasted by Spencer's teammates. But she stands her ground, while empathizing with their frustrations, and takes accountability for her role in their misfortunes. How could you not stan?!

I also loved how Liv was open and resourceful. She jumped on board an already sinking ship with Davita and just rolled with the waves as things kept falling apart lol. Kia didn't even have to pull teeth to get her to dance!

Liv seemed less "in her head" and more confident in her abilities. We've come so far 🥹

At the end of the day, whether you love them or you hate them, the reality is Spencer and Olivia get people talking. Nobody was talking about this garbage ass season because there was nothing to talk about. Nothing was happening. A dance scene birthed new life into this show, even with some not knowing what’s going on in it anymore. So maybe everyone, writers, directors, actors, viewers, stans alike, should just embrace it. They keep the lights on so your fave characters and your fave ships and dynamics can still be here. At this point if you can’t beat ‘em, join ‘em

Not liking them as a couple just will never make sense to me I’m sorry. That’s the most I’ve felt in FOURTEEN EPISODES. And their asses not even back together yet. You telling me there’s people that watch this show, and felt anything this season. They’ve been apart since it started. I need somebody to genuinely tell me what moment this season, other than the counter scene, gave you anything remotely close to that dance scene tonight.
