I will be using he/him pronouns for yamato as I always do.
In Canon texts:
Yamato is referred to with the standard gn pronoun in Japanese, but says he's a man like oden and is called "Yama-bro" by luffy. He's also uses the male bathhouse while kiku (a canon trans woman) uses the female one.
In flashbacks
Deuce refers to him as a woman and he gets upset. Ace refers to him as male through the entirety of the flashback, however it's very lightly touched upon.
In reference to canon texts:
But his vivre card says female and he was drawn on an all girls spread (that replaced kiku with him)
But in an anime promo he was drawn with male characters.
In reference to real life:
He is based off a real person from Japanese history... A person who is male.
So it tallies up to 6 VS 1 in the man VS woman fight.
I'd say look at his wiki page and come to your own conclusions about it. As I've seen people use she AND he pronouns on his wiki page.
Keep in mind though, I'm firmly in the ftm!Yamato camp and won't entertain people who want to argue with me about it. Everyone's got better things to do tbh.
