Introduction: Briar Aeducan is the middle child of King Endrin Aeducan and the favorite among the citizens of Orzammar. She was incredibly personable and kind to every citizen of Orzammar of all castes. She had never quite understood the intricate political scheming among her fellow nobles, but she always puts the good of her people first and foremost, even after she was mistakenly exiled for fratricide.

Name: Essell Lavellan Gender/Pronouns: Male, he/him Romantic/Sexual Orientation: Gray-panromantic/Demisexual Race + Class/Occupation: Dalish Mage Love Interest: Dorian Pavus Introduction: Raised as First to his clan, being Keeper was a role Essell was happy to one day assume. He has a great love of learning, and a particular interest in the histories of Thedas. Prior to the incidents at the conclave, he spent his time in lessons and reading any books he could get his hands on, or writing poems and short stories he would share with the children of the clan. Magic came to him at a very young age, and like with history, he’s always had a keen interest in learning the various magical practices beyond those of the Dalish. Essell thinks he’s a likeable enough person, and tries to befriend everyone he meets. He finds himself hurt and confused when people don’t return the sentiment. Some say he’s overly trusting as he’s always willing to give people the benefit of the doubt. He can become incredibly insular after emotional incidents and times of stress, and is prone to bouts of depression. Essell thrives on friendship and the connections he makes during his time as Inquisitor. When not busy with Inquisition duties, he spends much of his time in the Skyhold library with Dorian, debating and discussing different books they’ve read, or in the gardens where he continues to work on his writing. Feisty, cocky, and temperamental, but with a good heart; Torania Cousland always planned on being a hero. Just not like this. Broken after the loss of her family she found comfort in the one person who could make her smile again. Her fellow warden Alistair. Though neither of them wished for the throne she placed them on it out of duty to her country. A duty that had been instilled upon her since childhood. Turns out they do rather well at it.

“I have always been brave. Bravery is not hard. From a young age I intended to be a hero. And a hero I became. It is true any great hero must gain courage. But what was hard for me was not learning I was fierce. But learning I was also soft. To love someone so much their pain feels as your own. Does that not take bravery beyond facing any darkspawn? Race + Class/Occupation: Fereldan human + apostate mage & shepherd Love Interest: Anders Introduction: Jay has been a shepherd for most of his life, and his staff (Shepherd’s Crook) reflects this - before the Blight, he worked with his family on farms, and spent more time with the animals than the people). Throughout his stay in Kirkwall, Jay still clings to the title of the shepherd, because the rest - smuggler, noble, Champion - leave a bad taste in his mouth and he wishes for a simpler life, simpler self. Still, Kirkwall also came with some of the best things in his life: his rag-tag group of friends, and Anders. Falling in love was definitely pleasantly confusing for him. ^u^<3

He’s curious, active, stubborn, cheerful & very cuddly. :D

Introducing Ercan

Name: Ercan  

Gender/Pronouns: male, he

Romantic/Sexual Orientation: Asexual and aromantic

Race + Class/Occupation: Human, rogue

Introduction: Ercan is not the Inquisitor, not even a companion, just a person who’s trying to survive the Breach. His family had a farm somewhere in Ferelden, when the sky tore open, it was only him and his two sisters living on that farm. Ercan had to learn how to protect his family at any cost when he was very young, and he had always found a way to keep his siters our of harms way, but the Breach and the demons pouring out of the sky was beyond him. So, he had to make a decision and leave the farm with his sisters, trying to find shelter and work at Haven. Ercan is a character of circumstance. He found himself in bad company, running with thieves, dealing with bandits when he was just a child, and now he’s willing to do anything to keep his sisters safe, for they’re the only ones left for him, the only two people in the world who are truly important.

Ercan is not the tallest man you’ll ever meet, but he’s strong and he knows how to fight, he can probbly beat you up with any object he can find. He’s brave, sometimes even reckless, and kinda proud of his long, black hair that comes down to his waist. He might seem serious and intimidating all the time, but with his sisters he’s usually more relaxed, he jokes, he smiles, he gives them hugs, and when he can allow himself such luxury he dances.

Liss takes her responsibilities seriously and holds herself to high standards. She strives to maintain her composure in trying circumstances and to present herself as a strong, confident leader that her companions can have faith in. Despite this controlled, composed exterior, she cares deeply for her friends and family, and her commitments inspire loyalty in return. She has a playful side around those she trusts, although she is sometimes embarrassed to admit that. 

(Liss is a relatively new character, so I’m still getting to know her hobbies and quirks. An interest in history and lore/mythology is starting to emerge, I think.)

Introduction: Growing up in the Denerim alienage made Senka an angry and dangerously resourceful child. While her father tried to teach her to keep her head down and stay out of trouble, her mother trained her to protect herself should she ever need to - and Senka managed to find ways to put both their lessons into practice. She fancied herself a sort of Robin Hood, stealing and fighting from the shadows on behalf of those even less fortunate than her.

When she was recruited into the Wardens Senka was not happy, to say the least. She felt like she’d abandoned her family by leaving them behind, and was openly bitter towards Duncan for taking her away, for not getting more involved to protect her people, for remaining so frustratingly calm in the face of her anger - basically anything she could blame him for, she did. But after Ostagar, as she traveled with Alistair and her other companions, her temper began to settle. Her worldview was rocked to its core over the year they fought back the Blight and by the end of it she was a very different woman. Though she was still as blunt and generally irreverent as ever, as a leader she’d learned that she couldn’t afford to approach every problem with a knife in hand. And as for the problems that did require a sharper touch - well, she and Zevran made a terrifying team.

introduction: for someone with the title of ‘inquisitor’, ghevera is strikingly unassuming. if it weren’t for her rapidly-whitening hair and large rift-green eyes, it would be easy to call her just another dalish kid recruit - a mistake some blabbering nobles have made despite josephine’s polite insistence that, yes, this is the inquisitor lavellan. it never bothers ghev, and she maneuvers the minefield of orlesian, fereldan and tevinter politics with the honourable if naive intent to please all parties.

she was considered an oddball by her clan, too unapologetically keen for approval to be companionable. sending her as opposed to others to the conclave was justified due to ghevera’s stellar observation and memory abilities (and her fear of failing her clan), and perhaps had the secondary goal of helping her grow up a bit, to see the factions of mage and templar as they are and not glimpses and clues in the forests. her redeeming skills as a mage gave the keeper peace of mind that she could take care of herself, no matter what trouble she would inevitably stumble into.

this trouble has given ghevera an inner circle of friends that are more like family, language skills in dalish elvhen, ancient elvhen, tevene and small bits of nevarran and orlesian, a fierce amalgamation of combat skills from elvhen and chantry force, commanding armies and connections spanning across thedas, andraste guiding her from the fade and a totally rational fear of dragons. so she’s done pretty well from the temple of sacred ashes.

(Fen/M!Hawke) Dealing with primarily asexuality, also aromanticism.

It’s part of a series I published on ao3, however, the other parts must not necessarily be read before (although I’d of course be happy about it!)

Name: Dethra Lavellan Romantic/Sexual Orientation: Bi/Demisexual Race + Class: Elven mage Love Interest: Cullen Rutherford Introduction: Dethra is a woman whose world has just been broadened. Raised in her Dalish clan her world was just her clan and the human settlements within the Free Marches that she had visited for trade. The world beyond that was a mystery and being sent of to the Conclave was a blessing as well as a downfall. 

Yes, Dethra got to see the world that had long been kept from her but she also may have gotten more than she could chew. Going from a visiting tourist to the Inquisitor of a growing organization exposed not just the wonder of her new world but the cruelness of it all. It was while Dethra was Inquisitor that she began reading books upon books, history and culture and popular stories filling the shelves of her room, as to educate herself more in culture and customs that were beyond her understanding.
