Scarlett Sniper

Ra giggled as he was tickled, then babbled incoherently. 

“I have a special job for you Ra.”

“Dada~” 

“Can you help Mama feel better?”

“Ick..y?”

“Sorta icky..”

“Mama’s just a bit sad”

“Mama...hu..rt?” Ra asked, his ears drooping. Did a boo hurt Mama?? He’d get that mean boo. He settled down and held onto Scarlett, he was going to do a great job. Make Dada proud...be the goodest boy and goodest helper.

“Where do you want to set up the white light?” Egon asked Scarlett, “Maybe in your alchemy lab.”

“That’s perfect dear. Thank you.” She gave her attention back to Ra. “It’ll be okay Ra, you’re already helping Mama feel better.”

“Ba..by...ha..lp Mama. Goo..ba..by..” Ra smiled then watched Egon, “Dada go?”

“Helping Mama feel better, stay with her..”

“Kay...ba..by sta, ov Mama.” 

“Mama loves you too.” Scarlett smiled

“Wray..ha..lp..oo?” Ra looked for his red headed uncle, wherever he was. 

“The light is set up on the lowest setting. Anything else I can do to help?”

“Dada~” 

“Perhaps some tea and lavender”

“Inside firehouse voice Ra.” “Ba..by..” Ra spoke softly, immediately ready for zoomies. 

“Here we go...post nap zoomies..” 

“Oh no, not the zoomies!” Scarlett went to chase Ra out of the lab. Just to make sure he didn’t break anything

“Watch the stairs!” Egon followed Scarlett.. Ra ran to the bunk room and jumped up and off on each of the four beds then back out of the room.

“Come here you!” Scarlett scooped up Ra before he could get too far.

Ra screeched with glee and tried to get away, “Ba..by...go...ba..by...go!” 

“Calm down..Mama has you.” Egon meets up with the two and gently places his hand on Ra’s head.

“Dada...dada...dada..dada...” Ra held the blonde’s hand then began to pant quietly. That was a good run around the firehouse...

“There we go, all done.”

“Ba...by go dada.”

“Yes you did go..rest for a moment..”

“I ceam..” 

“After dinner..” 

“I ceam...”

“You gotta have dinner before ice cream.” She tickled him a bit

Ra wriggled out of the blanket cocoon, he didn’t want to sleep anymore and Uncle Ray wasn’t anywhere to be found. The frog noises stopped from the white noise machine. Ra huffed quietly and heard Egon and Scarlett talking,

“Dada...Mama.” Ra smiled and carefully jumps down off of Uncle Ray’s bed and goes to the lab. 

She giggled. “Still a bit shy about affection huh?”

“Yeah...”

Ra bounds into the lab, hair and fur a mess, “DADA! MAMA!” 

Scarlett looked over. “Oh my goodness! Who is this handsome wolf?”

“I can fix that easily, knowing that Ra would love to give you attention.” 

“Thank you dear.” She kisses his cheek

“Y-y-our welcome.” 

Ra wriggled out of the blanket cocoon, he didn’t want to sleep anymore and Uncle Ray wasn’t anywhere to be found. The frog noises stopped from the white noise machine. Ra huffed quietly and heard Egon and Scarlett talking,

“Dada...Mama.” Ra smiled and carefully jumps down off of Uncle Ray’s bed and goes to the lab. 

She giggled. “Still a bit shy about affection huh?”

“I can fix that easily, knowing that Ra would love to give you attention.” 

“Thank you dear.” She kisses his cheek

“Oh okay. At least he’s in safe hands”

“Is something troubling you? You can always tell me...”

“I’ve just been in a bit of a funk lately. Think it could be black slime?”

“Let me do a quick scan....if so then Ray and I can help...if not then I suggest staying away from Peter for at least a week.”

“Thank you love.”

He cautiously gives Scarlett a gentle poke on the upper arm as he scanned her with the PKE,

“Not a ghost...which is good. All readings are negative for exposure or dwelling of black slime. Would it be your seasonal depression? Or lack there of a certain Dragolf pup?”

“Probably a combination of those last two possibilities.”

“Oh okay. At least he’s in safe hands”

“Is something troubling you? You can always tell me...”

“What have you been up to? I’m personally researching natural remedies for common sicknesses.”

“Just doing a bit of research, and preparing for Devil’s night.” She replied, “Halloween might be the day where the ethereal border is thinnest, but there could be stronger ghosts who try to jump the gun.”

“There is a possibility…are you also aware that your books are stacked asymmetrically?”

“Did I?” Scarlett asked, looking at the stacks. “Didn’t mean to.” She picked up another book called ‘Dimensional Tourists Guide to Mythania’

“A certain little someone could accidentally hurt himself and your books in the process. Would you like assistance placing these books back on the shelf?”

“Yes please.” She replied, “I’m sorry, I got so caught up in my studies that I forgot about Ra.”

“Happens to the best of us and he still loves you, what are you reading now?”

“A book our skeletal friend gave us.” Scarlett replied. “She figured if we’re dealing with various ghosts of mythical creatures, it’d be best to study on them with sources from the actual creatures.”

“True..it can’t hurt..umm…do you want the books organized by author’s last name or by title?”

“Author.” Scarlett replied, writing down some notes.
