I tried to teach you the way this great game we find ourselves in is played. Well, even if I say it myself, I have been a most excellent teacher. And lessons are complete. Or perhaps you never needed them.

6. Favorite movies of the year
Everything everywhere all at once. it has all the rave reviews, it has michelle yeoh, it has the multiverse, it's an a24 production...and I dragged my feet on watching it because (I say this as an asian american, to be clear) I'm at this stage where I'm tired of watching asian american movies/reading asian american books that are like...behold, this is The Asian American Experience, trapped between two worlds/older and younger generations struggle to connect/have you eaten yet means I love you etc etc. everything everywhere all at once is I guess about "the asian american experience", true, but it feels bigger than that, it doesn't stop with that. it has hot dog fingers and googly eyes and michelle yeoh busting up some windows with a baseball bat. it's great.
9. Best new fandom discovery of the year
the story killshot, baby by thefudge. you know a writer is good when they can get you invested in a ship you hadn't considered seriously before. and with a big fandom like house of the dragon, there's so much volume to sift through and a lot of stuff that is simply not for me...but if you can wade through it, there is also some mind blowing talent out there.
18. Fandom that you never expected to get into
hmm, rings of power? wasn't really planning to watch it, I'm very much a casual lotr fan and it just was not on my radar, but I'm glad I gave it a chance. now I've discovered galadriel x sauron is kind of hot and many other people think so too. what a world.

Whoever is in charge of the crowns props has a bad taste. First Sansa bland one instead of the bronze and iron Kings in the North first men crown. Now these ugly things instead of the circlets of Fire & Blood art.
