POV: Third person limited
SUMMARY
Since the Chosen Wars split the four cities, the residents of each have called a Chosen forward to fight the Corrupted Arcane and assure their mutual survival. Despite tensions between them, this has been done every century, choosing one person to defend them from the evils that lurk in the shadows, waiting to be set loose upon the world again.
Four Chosen set out, unlikely and unwilling friends, forced to fight and afraid to die. The Corrupted Arcane have defeated forces greater than four. But this century, a minor god will intervene, four will become five, and one will alter the course of history.
The rules have changed. These Chosen will be like no other.
CHARACTERS
Tybarian “Ty” Pherenice: A bisexual woman (she/her) and the Chosen of the City of Spires. As a mage, she’s been told she’s a coward more times than she can count. If only to prove them wrong, she’ll see this thing through to the end.
Riaglin Garnithart: An dwarven asexual man (he/him) and the Chosen of the City of Stone. He’s the first Chosen the Garnithart clan has gotten to send, and he’s determined to make an impression. Maybe he’ll be the last Chosen the City of Stone ever needs.
Airathron Rial: A nonbinary (they/them) bisexual, the Chosen of the City of Light. The hunters of the City of Light revel in being Chosen, and Airathron is no different. To be Chosen is to be the best. For them, to be Chosen is a reminder they’re second only to one.
Lifrai Crysriver: A pansexual elf man (he/him) and the Chosen of the City of Arches. As a future king, he must prove himself here to take his rightful place at the head of the City of Arches. He must succeed, lest his sister be forced to face this darkness in his place
Kaylin Smith: A demisexual woman (she/her) known as the Hand of Elras. She may not be Chosen, but when the god Elras speaks, she listens. She’ll drag these four through their duties kicking and screaming if she has to, but the Corrupted Arcane will be defeated if it’s the last thing she does.
