From the other day. Sometimes when random emotes are going about you can get lucky and catch some really good screens in split-second moments. This was one of those shots, nothing rehearsed or timed or anything, it just happened (As you might notice the UI is still on cause npc names in the back.)

But yeah, thought it was a really great shot of Folken and Ashlin

10 years ago today I met my now husband =u= its crazy how time flies! HAPPY meeting-ANNIVERSARY <3 <3 <3 Our 10th Eternal Bond anniversary is at the end of the year, coinciding with our 5th irl wedding anniversary :) ( i need to find an anniversary gift)

Back when Balmung was for Balmung and Uldah was empty.

Alright time to come for everyone

I've been playing this damned game since launch, we didnt even have easy fantasias or even the Aesthetician until like the first patch.

They gave us 1 fantasia after 1 month of subscription as a part of the now abandoned Veteran Rewards program.

Many people used that single fantasia to change their hairstyle or haircolour back then and then lamented they wasted it.

I used that first Fantasia to swap from Femroe -> Highlady and used a free server transfer to force a name change to Ashlin Farblade. During my time as Ashlin, I'd used fantasias with @folkenface to do halloween or april fools fantas like turning into other races, or this one memorable time when we fantasia'd into each other. Near the end of stormblood, I started playing around with just being other characters, and through Shadowbringers and Endwalker while I stay the entire MSQ expansion the same "WoL" i still end up fantasia-ing as an experiment at the end of the expansion or during a lengthly patch lull.

Hi! Brattygrymblade here :)

When you have gpose open, the clicking one of the 3 buttons will spawn a light where the camera currently is. The 3 options for each light is how "flared" each light is, and the sliders are how intense each light colour can be :)

Oh my gosh I feel so incredibly stupid. I just thought those were light presets :') Thank you for your wisdom, it is most appreciated!

No worries, glad to be of help! FFXIV's photo mode is ridiculously good, it's grown so much since it was first implemented :)

Vanilla GPose Challenge

2) Location One of the things I love about the Goblet is how they transformed the little middle area into a nice swimming pool in the swimming update. Forgot that the event was running during this photo, and never noticed the little sakura blossom at the top until I took this.

Clean Reference Pics? No photobooth?

These tips have been posted in the past by other people, but with the amount of new players coming in I figure it might be a useful guide, especially if theyre on console. You'll wanna head over to this location in Coerthas Central Highlands:

Once you've positioned yourself how you like in the little snow hut, place 3 lights, 2 behind your character to wash out the background, and one in front of your character to give some light.

Use the game controls to zoom in and adjust the camera then rotate it 90°.

You can later use any image editor to rotate it as you like it.

HAPPY GPOSING!

The way Final Fantasy 14 explores the themes and lore of its deities and other bosses through the song lyrics in their boss music is very underrated tbh. It's one of the best aspects of the game to me, yet I don't see it praised as much as other things.

And there's such variety, too. Menphina's theme is an upbeat song that explores how the world's cat people find safety and comfort in worshipping the moon. Sophia's theme is a sad parable that shows how the goddess' idea of balance is harsh and inhumane. Lakshmi spends her song trying to seduce you into accepting her ideology of blissful sloth. Shiva mourns her own plight. Suzaku sings of lost love. Athena sings about how she is the shit and she's gonna kill you.

It's all just really great.

FFXIV Forum

Fuck it, let's try again.

Some time ago I created a forum that didn't stay lively for very long, unfortunately, but I don't want to give up on it as I think forums offer something that no other tool for online community can offer: an actual community that doesn't rely on everyone acting like their own PR/marketing team.

So here it is, in case anyone's interested:

What does it have to offer?

A place to meet artists and roleplayers from the FFXIV fandom, where you won't be assailed by notifications like a Discord server, that's LGBTQ-friendly and won't ask you to post all the time to remain visible (contrary to social media).

What you'll find:

  • RP sections for your RP threads, easier to manage than on Tumblr, and without the pressure of being seen online on Discord because you wanted to talk to your friends but aren't in the mood for RP
  • A place to get help to create your character or write an NPC, if you're feeling insecure and want to try your hand at writing/roleplaying
  • Galleries for your writing, fanarts, screenshots, irl craft, etc. where you don't have to worry about peak hours to be seen
  • Forums where you can gush about your own characters and get asked questions: no need to have a big following anymore!
  • A place where you can discuss the lore and share your meta analysis to your heart content
  • A place to organize your own in-game event and promote it, once again without needing to build a big enough following for it to be noticed!
  • Yes, there's a NSFW section (that you have to ask to get access to). Forumactif—the host—is not in favor of this, however, so if Etheirys has enough success I might consider hosting it myself (but I'm not rich so we'll start with the free alternative for now and just keep it on the low XD)
  • And more!

I am taking suggestions to improve it and I'll gladly help you and answer your questions if you're not familiar with forums (or this sort of forums, anyways).

For those who don't know me or find me intimidating to talk to (I know it has happened) I've been leading communities big and small for about 18 years now, and I've always put a big emphasis on fairness, communication and patience.
