Tried my hand at rendering my OC stella in the Araki style! Doing that small FF drawing gave me a taste and it made me want to dive into making a more full piece.
I think it's probably my favorite thing I've drawn this year. I love making pixel art but I really have to get back into illustrations on a more regular basis!

Kiddy Kong from DKC3! Almost every December I re-play through DKC3. Got the game as a gift when I was like 7 or 8and it's been one of my favorite platformers since. Also remember my first real sketchbook and pencil kit that year. My mom would wind up beating all the really hard levels for me and while she played I'd bust out my new sketchbook and try my best to draw the characters in the game. That's probably one of my most vivid early art memories.

Didin't want to make a Lobster enemy because that's the ultimate Acadian/Marritimer cliché but couldn't think of anything else to make as an enemy, was pretty much the last bit of this I came up with.

Saw a bunch of people who participate in the Mario 3 Redrawn collab post their wonderful pieces and felt inspired to give it a shot myself even tho I'm not part of the collab. A few days ago one of my fave local bands released a 4 song cover EP and I had the pleasure to make the cover art & visualizer for one of the songs!
The name translates roughly to "Quilted Blanket Vol 1", which is an appropriate name since it's an EP of cover songs in Acadian French. Each quadrant represents the different artists covered on it. Two of the artists covered are local to Nova Scotia and the other two are Kiss and a alt pop/rock cover of Taylor Swift. Definitely an eclectic bunch of songs covered and a super fun listen!
