"Drugs... don't do 'em. Is the main point. But also people kind of lie to people, they're like 'drugs make everything awful immediately'. That's not true. The problem is that if you are a person who's like 'oh I want to be in a band' or something, the problem with drugs is that there is this very, very small period of time where it does kind of engender some excitement in you as an artist, and maybe you make one or two things that are really good. Then the rest of it is fucking shit, and I made a lot of shit because of that. But there's a couple of ones that come from that era that are actually quite good. That's the danger of it, to be totally honest with you, that's why it's dangerous. I haven't done smack in coming up five years now.
