Hi, it's eyajiiwrites! Dropping off a writing question for you: how does your main character feel about politics?
Almost all of my main characters are royalty, actually!
In my unnamed WIP, a medieval fantasy novel that takes place in a land of Elves, my MC Zelda Nightingale is a princess. She's not much interested in political matters, as they bore her, but takes part in political meetings and lawmaking because of her mother, who only wishes to prepare Zelda for her future as a queen.
My other royal WIP takes place in a mountain range, where each individual mountain is owned by a royal family. These families are part of a species known as Mountain Elves. Specifically, Red Mountain Elves and Blue Mountain Elves. My main characters in this WIP, called Glassglow, are BME's. The youngest is only interested in pleasing their mother, while the other two take part in politics like nobodies business. The eldest sister, Vellatra, is more interested in the war side of things. The middle child, Insidion, is much more invested in political marriage. He's a mamma's boy and wants to find a proper spouse to make his mother proud. When they get older, however, they both end up joining the royal council.
My other two WIPS are too early in development for me to go into too much detail, but I can tell you that in my 1940's/1950's based WIP, the only thing relating to politics that my MC is interested in are wealthy politicians looking for a proper sugar baby.
With NaNoWriMo coming up, there’s so much content coming out and inspiring me. I browse nano/intro tags sometimes and have requested myself on a few tag lists already, but I want to actively share and interact with the posts I’m enjoying.
