So once every couple of weeks, I check ticketmaster to see if there are reasonably priced tickets being resold at the shows that are accessible to me.

Photos of this chart are from 2 different dates. Here’s what’s funny, the pink seats are actual scalpers and people who purchased tickets, reselling them. The blue seats are tickets ticketmaster reserved for themselves to resell at 3 times the price or more. Every time I go and check up on ticket conditions, more and more blue seats pop up. In some places, ticketmaster is reselling more seats than actual scalpers on this “sold out” tour.

Well, I managed to get a ticket. I had to fight tooth and nail with the system rejecting the card over and over and losing 2 seats in the process but I got a ticket. I’ll be staring at their backs and shoulders because it’s directly next to the stage but it’s still incredibly close and I can’t complain considering everything and how it’s a miracle I was able to get one in the first place.

I am truly sorry to everyone who was unable to get a ticket. Ticketmaster is the worst and finding out that the artists and their management can say yes/no to the “dyanamic” pricing and “platinum” pricing is a real eye opening bummer.

Artists need to do more to ensure that tickets are getting to fans in fair ways at fair prices, but at the end of the day business is still business and they get their check so it feels like a hopeless roundabout.

What an unfortunately shitty experience and circumstance surrounding what’s supposed to be such a good and happy time.

That said I am devastated. Sincerly so sad it hurts. I’ve been crying for at least two hours already. When life hands you lemons, blah blah blah, can I get a fucking apple for once?

I then went on to spend pretty much the rest of the day, from noon to 5pm trying to get a ticket in other states, including all of the california dates and literally the same exact thing happened to me for hours and hours.

Now every single date is “sold out.” I mean, good for them seeing how much people missed them and making all that money I’m sure, but fuck ticketmaster and honestly fuck artists for being so complacent and doing nothing but shrugging and saying “sorry” while continuing to work with a monopoly that preys upon and fucks over their fans. The apathy is appalling.

Not getting a ticket is one thing, but the tickets being so grossly expensive to start is really rubbing me the wrong way. I get that the demand is there and we live in a capitalist society, yada yada, but $250 to over $300 for general admission???? Over $100 for RAFTERS????

Thank you, ticketmaster for making me log on ten minutes before tickets actually went on sale to be put in a waiting room for the q, only for the page not to refresh when the countdown was over. I sat there and waited 10 to 15 seconds before doing it myself to be thrown in the q, waited another ten minutes and apparently the whole arena was placed before me in q because everything was sold out besides nosebleeds and “platinum” tickets. Would I have settled for tickets that would essentially mean sitting so far up and high that I’d have to watch the screen to even enjoy the show if they were fairly priced? Sure, but rafter tickets cost $150+ BEFORE fees, and no, that was not resale price. That was just what they were priced. Period. I’m still watching the page and sometimes GA will pop up, I guess from people abandoning their cart and floor is 350 BEFORE fees, again, not resale price. All the tickets closer to the stage not platinum are also 300+, not resale.

And I was there, before sale time, doing everything I could have possibly done to get a ticket.

So I guess I’m just never seeing my favorite band again. Thank you, universe. I love this for me.

okay my ass is *slightly* disappointed still as their EU dates are coming nowhere near me and obvs US tour means fuck all to me BUT I still have some strong feels about the video.

What I absolutely adore right now is the fact that MCR is not doing a rebirth. No rebranding. No “oh that’s just what we did before the break, we’re leaving that behind and focusing on the new era.”

They deadass walked us through all their old albums like “yeah, this is us, this is what we do, and we’re here to pick you kids up right where we left you.”

This is not a restart. This is a return. And that I’m incredibly grateful for.

I’m so old. A decade ago all this cryptic stuff was thrilling but now I’m like, just tell me what you’re doing and how much it’s going to cost me. Don’t get me wrong, it’s amazing they’re doing anything at all at this point and I’m glad they’re having fun but I’m poor and all my anxiety stems from money so I’m just like...I just want to know if I can afford this.
