[nadia upset] “what’s the matter with you today?!”

[derek] “I’m perfectly fine, thanks for asking, nadia!”

a few moments later, the heat on set still hadn’t cooled down. travis went outside, followed by jillian, who was most likely trying to calm him down in the hopes of preventing that day from being a complete disaster. they only got two takes done, which was close to being nothing. inside, derek was forced to face his true feelings...

[travis] “let her fix the issue, pal, and move aside! my money’s on nadia!”
[derek upset] “I don’t need you to tell me what to do! you don’t have the first clue about my job!”
[travis] “apparently neither do you!”
[nadia trying to calm both parties down] “guys, please! I didn’t mean to offend anyone. what’s going on with you today?!”
[derek towards travis] “you think you can just use everyone around you to your liking and never deal with any consequences, you arrogant prick! but I’m not one of your bitches, travis! I’m technically your boss, so show me some respect!”

in that moment, derek couldn’t help it - these accusing words just shot out of him and now it was too late to take them back. he wasn’t sorry, he meant them exactly as he said it. but seeing nadias shocked face and the anger in jillians expression made derek immediately regret his outburst.

[nadia getting into the discussion] “I might know what’s the issue here.”
[derek unimpressed] “since when are you into tech, nadia?!”
[nadia] “hey, don’t take it out on me, mister. just trying to help here.”

but what she didn’t know was that derek’s been secretly mad at her for days. something went down that night at the motel between travis and her and he couldn’t shake the suspicion that she’d actually let that horndog fuck him in his room. after everything he’d done to his sister, travis was practically dead to him. yet a job was a job and as much as he wanted to go over there and punch the smirk expression off his face, he didn’t.

[jillian sighing] “then how about you call someone over that actually knows how to do it?! we’re running behind schedule and frankly, I’m getting tired of working over-time after the weekend-shoot we just had!”
[derek sarcastically] “thanks, jill. that was super helpful. I bet the broken lights feel real bad about upsetting you and will go back to working again immediately!”
[jillian] “oh, you shut it!”
[derek mumbling something under his breath]
[travis] “what was that, derek?!”
[derek annoyed] “don’t even start with me, travis!”

back on set, the crew was facing a few technical difficulties this evening. travis, who was prepared and ready to deliver his lines, was starting to get pissed off, having to start over for the fourth time by now.

[travis annoyed] “oh, come on, derek! what’s with the lights today?!”
[derek] “I’m on it, just hold on, T!”
[travis] “just get someone to fix it or change that damn light-bulp for all I care!”
[derek unbothered] “that’s not so easy, boss, trust me on that.”

after they had dinner and alec was focused on his toys, david tried to address it.

[david] “I’m really enjoying this, you know? I mean, look at us - co-parenting like pros!”
[helena] “we actually did it, yeah. just gotta make sure to keep the peach between all parties and then we might just get to live happily ever after...” [sarcastically]
[david] “did I say something wrong?”
[helena] “no, I’m sorry, it’s me. I uh, I just got a lot on my mind. I’m glad we’re finally seem to have found a way for this to work as well.”

he didn’t get much more out of her that evening - let alone anything that would’ve answered his questions. seeing how she was already pretty tense and trying her best to disguise it, david decided to let it go - at least for now.

david was staying over for dinner tonight at helenas house. the smell of grilled chicken coming from the kitchen was slowly starting to fill the living room era and making his stomach growl. it wasn’t like he didn’t enjoy this little playdate with his son - he definitely did. yet something felt different between helena and him. however, he couldn’t quite pin down what it was and it was bothering him. they’ve been getting along quite well lately - almost too well...

[valerie concerned] “heather, please! you need to tell me right now what’s actually going on or else I cant help you! what does that ethan-guy want from you?! this is unprofessional and you know it!”
[heather sighing in defeat] “were consenting adults, val. these things can happen.”
[valerie] “so you are screwing him?”
[heather] “we had sex once, yes!”
[valerie] “and you want me to believe he brought two bottles of wine to drink them all by himself?! come on, its just not adding up...”
[heather] “I had a glass of each bottles that night, but that was it, I swear it!”

and while valerie continued to preach to her friend about the dangers of drinking during a pregnancy, heather was feeling even more guilty for telling yet another lie just so she could get away with an even bigger one. she did drink them both on her own and these were just the ones she hadnt gone rid off yet. cursing herself for being so careless and getting caught, heather couldnt help but to crave another glass.

for a brief moment valerie considered giving heather the benifit of the doubt, wanting to believe that it really had been someone else who drank these bottles and not her. but even then, what kind of shady story was going on that heather had obviously not told her anything about so far?

[valerie] “then what’s the deal with this guy, huh? a good friend, really?! are you screwing this ethan-what’s-his-name now?
[heather] “frankly, that is none of your business!”
[valerie] “I guess that answers my question...”
[heather defensive] “so what if I am?! this has nothing to do with these bottles!”
