barely 40 pages into this 'sexuality and german fascism' book and i'm already losing my mind at how much information is in here, on top of additional sources... crazy that two separate people making video essays could be so wrong about the same topic but somehow wrong in the opposite direction...? does nobody do research or read books anymore lmao god
"gay people can't be nazis" statistically untrue given the reputation of the SA as a homosexual organization and röhm's personal beliefs about homosexuality as a compliment to nazi ideology, to say nothing of the SS (and the idea that this is a myth also untrue given the amount of primary sources for court proceedings of homosexual activity, including himmler's acknowledgment of the severely homosocial nature of an all-male organization) + "nazi aesthetics are responsible for gay culture and body standards" more complicated than one can unpack in 60 minutes given the nature of fascism as a heavily aestheticized ideology and the billion other variables involved in beauty standards, many of which are white supremacist in origin....... it's just too reductive and narrow (and wildly euro-centric) of an argument to be accurate.

They’ve released not just digitized works of art, but also a great many art history texts and art books in general. Just this week, they announced an expansion of access to their digital archive, in that they’ve made nearly 88,000 images free to download on their Open Content database under Creative Commons Zero (CC0). That means “you can copy, modify, distribute and perform the work, even for commercial purposes, all without asking permission.”
88,000 new free images just dropped, to use however you like.
