Why is every piece of media now about “surprise! bet you didn’t see that coming” instead of themes, character arcs, internal logic, and consistency in writing?

It’s okay if your audience (especially hardcore fans) predicts your story. It means that they picked up the clues you put in, understood the themes you were trying to convey, empathised with the characters…

How is that a bad thing?

Instead each piece of media feels like it’s written by a marketing team that is looking at the latest statistics for TRP ratings and box-office collections.

Yeah… sighs.

Like imagine you’re the richest man on Earth and your wife is divorcing you because you work too much and consistently choose your job over your family. Bill Gates could literally spend his days getting exclusive tours of the Louvre or playing with quokkas on a private island, and instead he chooses the prevent poor people from accessing vaccines over his own wife. Billionaires’ brains should be studied in science labs, how in the hell are we allowing these people to decide anything about our world.

y’know what. i think we need to start validating every single expression of bisexuality. i mean it. if a bi girl claims she has no preference but mainly talks about guys, she’s still bisexual. if a bi guy has only dated men, he’s still bisexual. if someone has a preference, they’re absolutely just as bisexual. also, having no gender preference is absolutely, 100% an expression of bisexuality. when it comes down to it, there is no way to define bisexuality through an individual’s experience. if they are bisexual they are bisexual, no matter how others may see it.

I think the historical treatment of left handed people is objectively the funniest form of bigotry mankind has ever displayed
