my work schedule has been absolutely chaotic lately but beginning tomorrow afternoon, i’m going to be back around finally ! i’m not entirely sure if i’m going to do a complete revamp / move blogs or if i’m simply going to clear this out and start fresh but if we have any threads that you’d like to keep going, PLEASE let me know before i clear everything out tomorrow. otherwise, i’ll be posting a starter call here shortly.

           she’s at first was surprised at the voice beside her . when she’d agreed to meet maggie at joe’s and then her sister was nowhere to be found , she found herself ordering a water and watching the crowd . ❛ i mean.. i couldn’t imagine losing my position but i’ve been watched like a HAWK before . it sucks to feel lower than you deserve . ❜ and then she looks at him , a grin on her lips at his words — trying to ignore how attractive he really is . ❛ paper work , everyone hates it , so that is a plus . ❜

          ❛  definitely  not  as  freeing  as  you’d  think  .  ❜  kelly  had  been  a  lieutenant  for  years  .  he  was  slowly  but  surely  working  his  way  up  the food chain  at  a  steady  pace  &  being  stripped  of  the  rank  that  he  had  worked  so  hard  for  had  been  a  blow  to  his  ego  .  ❛  run  reports  were  never  fun  to  begin  with  ,  so  i  guess you’re  right  there  .  ❜  kelly  chuckled  ,  shaking  his  head  at  the  surgeon  .

       with  what  she  had  with  kelly  being  the  first  real  sort  of  romantic  or  sexual  relationship  she’d  had  with  someone  (  even  if  it  had  started  out  as  something  else  just  to  appease  others  ) , she’d  never  once  thought  about  leaving  him . whether  as  part  of  ending  the  potential  relationship  or  ending  their  friendship  as  a  whole . it  never  once  crossed  her  mind , and  it  hurt  to  think  that  he  would  even  consider  that  she  would , anxiety  or  not . her  feet  shuffled  the  rest  of  her  body  in  allowance  of  letting  kelly  pull  her  closer , her  face  burying  itself  against  his  chest  before  her  arms  came  up  to  wrap  around  his  middle .   ‘   you’re  stuck  with  me  too , y’big  nerd .   ’   her  words  may  have  been  muffled , but  she  hoped  the  meaning  still  translated  well  enough .  i  love  you .  i’d  never  leave .

         he  found  it  extremely  difficult  to  comprehend  why  she  stuck  around  .  their  ages  didn’t  entirely  match  up  ,  he  was  in  a  very  dangerous  &  highly  stressful  occupation  and  he  just  wanted  her  to  be  happy  .  kelly  is  relieved  when  jan  responds  to  his  hug  and  wraps  his  arms  around  her  tighter  .  ❛  i  don’t  know  what  i  would  do  without  you  .  ❜  he  mumbles  ,  hesitating  before  he  pulls  back  slightly  and  glances  down  at  her  .  oceanic  eyes  scan  her  face  before  he  takes  perhaps  the  biggest  step  he’d  ever  taken  in  their  entire  friendship  &  reaches  a  hand  up  to  cup  her  face  .  the  fireman  hesitates  before  he  leans  in  to  capture  her  lips  in  a  sweet  kiss  ,  hopping  it  would  convey  all  that  he  was  feeling  .

      The decision to bolt in the opposite direction was still running around her mind, debating whether or not she would still be welcome in their firefighting family after all these years. She honestly didn’t know how he would react — whether or not he would be happy that was she back, or more upset that she left without a trace — and that was the part that was scaring her the most as she awaited an answer. She found that her hands were now shaking uncontrollably when she reached out to place the unopened bottle of beer down in front of him as a peace offering. Maybe it wasn’t too late to start running.

          “I—” She was at a loss for words the moment she heard his voice again. Pulling her hand back down to her side to hide the fact she was still a bundle of nerves, Charlie shook her head. She should have known. “I—I–I’m going to pretend like you–like you didn’t make that short joke.” At that point the tears were beginning to swell within her green hues despite the grin on his face. That was a good sign, right?

                 “Can… Can I hug you—or are you afraid you’re going to crush little ol’ me?”

          it  had  been  years  since  kelly  had  seen  her  last  .  charlie  had  been  his  best  friend  growing  up  &  the  last  think  he  remembered  was  her  bolting  .  they’d  both  gone  different  directions  with  their  lives  but  he’d  never  be  able  to  forget  about  her  .  kelly  was  still  having  a  hard  time  believing  that  she  was  actually  standing  before  him  &  chuckled  ,  shaking  his  head  when  she’d  said  that  she  would  pretend  he  hadn’t  used  a  short  joke  on  her  .  ❛  you  okay  ?  ❜  it  was  funny  how  quickly  seeing  her  beautiful  green  eyes  swell  could  trigger  such  a  reaction  from  him  .  tears  of  joy  he  imagined  ,  but  he  still  worried  .  ❛  do  you  really  have  to  ask  ?  ❜  kelly  teased  ,  slipping  off  of  his  bar  stool  before  wrapping  his  arms  around  her  small  frame  .
