Terrain-to-Floor Collection

You know what drives me nuts in The Sims 4? (Many things) but in this case it’s that most terrain paints don’t have matching floor tilings and the ones that DO have matching floors do not have matching names. E.g. is how the terrain paint “Two-tone stone” does in fact have a matching flooring but instead the floor is called “Antique Stone Tile”. WHY.

Well, here’s a remake of most of the non-grass terrain paints made into floor tilings.

Just search for the name of the terrain paint you want the matching floor tile for (in Build/Buy catalog) and you shall find it!

Note that some Terrain paints and Floor tilings seem to differ in color during certain seasons/weather conditions!

online communities are so strange because people slip away so easily. you can be on here for years, folding people you've never met into the fabric of your daily life, and then they disappear, leaving only ghost posts scattered across tumblr behind. or their blog stays dormant, for weeks, months, years, until you're only still following them because you remember that they love sunflowers or they were kind to you when they didn't have to be or the last thing they posted was sad and raw and you still worry about them sometimes.

and sometimes they come back when you least expect it, years later, even, and there's this sudden rush of relief like there you are, there you are, even though you barely knew each other.

there's a strange kind of love to it. i don't know you and i want to hold your hand across miles and time zones and oceans. i can still see the imprint of you in this community you left. you don't think anyone will notice or care when you're gone, but we notice and we care and we wish you well.

i hope you're all okay out there. i hope the sun is shining on your face and you are breathing deeply. i miss you.

As an addition, not only the ones that disappeared but also the ones who are generally lurking or not as active as they were anymore for reasons, I hope that you'll find solace in things that make you smile and find strength in things you do. Hang in there.

This made me feel a lot of comfort, for my own absences and others' throughout my years here. It can sometimes be very meaningful and scary to return to a blog, but once you do it's like a warm hug 💞

I've never felt more comfortable in a community than on tumblr, you can make genuine connections here, even if they are just fleeting sometimes. They are still real in that we can feel and care for each other. We're living our lives side by side for years, and there is always someone who notices an absence, someone who cares about our well-being and how we are doing. Shoutout to all the people who care about someone in an online community this way!

PIPPA will be 7 years old this May. I've been talking about building a new PC for awhile but kept putting it off due to the graphics card prices (and laziness, let's be honest).

Well, PIPPA decided she's tired and made the choice for me this morning. My C: drive is practically unresponsive so I went ahead and bit the bullet and ordered all the new parts to build her successor. I have a decent amount of stuff backed up on different drives and hopefully I can get a clone made that will allow me to salvage some stuff.

Looking forward to the upgraded specs but I should probably take this as a reminder to not wait for the forced kick in the pants for stuff like this.

Turns out it wasn't my C: drive. Different SSD drive failure that locked up the entire system when it was connected. Once I got it removed, everything is playing nice again, except for the fact that the drive that failed was the one with 99% of my games installed, lol

Still moving forward with the new build though!
