Folklore + The Four Elements insp: wonderwomans
I think the entire point of folklore is that, like... even when stories aren't explicitly about you, there are themes and elements and feelings and emotions that you can apply to your own life. Taylor may not be telling her own stories, but there are pieces of each song that tie to her own life, just like we all take parts of all the art we consume and apply it to ourselves. That's the essence of folklore and it's really beautiful to see it in action as a thrilling collection of music.

Cheers to everyone whose most relatable lyrics on folklore are “they told me all of my cages were mental so I got wasted like all my potential” and “look at this godforsaken mess” and “pulled the car off the road to the lookout, could’ve followed my fears all the way down” and “stood on the cliff side screaming ‘give me a reason’” I love you and I believe in you

red folklore
you can’t read a few text posts on tumblr and reblog a couple pictures of black lives matters and think you’re not racist. racism is a deeply engrained part of our culture - sometimes it’s not even conscious. you have to constantly question yourself. it’s pretty hard to unlearn 400+ years of institutional racism and in order for us to properly dismantle systems of injustice, we have to stop pretending we all aren’t part of the problem.
