Call to action

Call to Action: Anti-trans lobbyists Speaking at the RCPsych International Congress

On 17-20 June the Royal College of Psychiatrists (RCPsych) will host their 2024 International Congress at the Edinburgh International Conference Centre. The conference programme lists several speakers associated with anti-trans lobbying and the promotion of conversion therapy.

Contemporary anti-trans campaigns within medical science thrive on partial evidence, disinformation, and misleading expertise. In this context, it is easy for certain voices to be lost: specifically, people with actual lived experience of transition and gender services, and trans healthcare experts who have actually worked with and listened to trans people.

Echoing the rallying cry of the disability liberation movement, “nothing about us without us”, we encourage RCPsych conference organisers to reconsider the promotion of conversion practices and absence of trans expertise at their World Congress. We further encourage keynote speakers at the RCPsych Congress – including Dr Hilary Cass – to consider whether they wish to be associated with the dangerous ideologies and practices of groups such as SEGM and CAN-SG.

Hi all, it's been a long time since I posted here but I'm in need of some help.

I currently had to stop working due to an injury and whilst I'm currently waiting for my benefits to kick in, I can't afford this month's rent. If anyone could help me out I would really appreciate it, if you can't then could you please reblog. I hate doing this but I'm incredibly desperate. Thank you 💚

Anonymous asked:

Hello! I've been following for a while and I noticed how much merchandise you've made - the prints, stickers, buttons, charms/keychains especially! I really enjoy your style since it's so adorable. I wanted to ask how you go about making the merch? Like, is there a special service you use for certain products? I wanna go about making my own someday and your stuff always looks so lovely ;v; If you can help me out, even a bit, that'd be great!

Hello anon-chan-san! Thank you so much for your kind words, they mean a lot and I’m happy you’ve liked all the goodies I’ve done so far (๑°꒵°๑)・*♡ And no worries, I’m always happy to help! ( ◜◒◝ )♡ I do use a different service/merchant to print/produce my items once the art file is done on my end. Here are some of my best friends:

Charms:

Zap!Creatives – Their quality is amazing and they have a variety of different types of charms! They do more than just charms too, but this is what I mainly use them for. They are located overseas but you do get free shipping on orders over $300. Also, if you sign up for their newsletter, once in a while you’ll get a 10-25% off coupon code to use on certain items which knocks a good amount off your order! Turnaround time and shipping is amazingly fast! No complains here.
Acornpress – I have yet to use them personally, but I’ve heard good things about them. They are located in the states, which would save you on shipping and have a lower minimum. However, they only offer white and clear acrylic charms at the moment. I’ll be trying them out soon and I’ll make sure to do a small review!
Note: You only get the charms. You have to build them yourself and buy the phonestraps, bells, jump rings, etc. from your local craft store or online.

Stickers:

Jimiagency – I love JiMi Agency! Their sticker quality is more than amazing and it’s always a pleasure to work with them. However, they are not kiss cut! You’ll have to use your favorite pair of scissors to cut them yourself! If you want kiss cut stickers, be prepared to pay more and have a bigger minimum order to place with other companies. JiMi also offers more than just stickers. From bookmarks to memo pads, to charms and washi tape. They only do group orders and it varies when. Just check their site out to see when they’ll be having their next group order.
Note: You can always do them yourself by buying sticker paper and printing them at home. It’s a good way to start if you don’t have the funds at the moment. That’s how I started and I don’t regret doing so and it helped so much.

Prints:

Fireball Printing – Quality, turnaround time, and shipping is amazing! No complains here. They do have a minimum of 5 for poster size prints, which is not bad. For postcard size prints though, their minimum is too high and I wouldn’t recommend them for that unless you want 1k of the same design. They also offer other printing services.
CatPrint – I have yet to use them, but I have ordered their samples and I’m in love with the quality and variety of paper they have for printing! I’ve also heard a lot of good things about them. They don’t have a minimum–heck, you can even order one print! I’ll sure be using them to print out my con prints for August.
Note: Shipping is a bit high only because both use special shipping supplies to make sure your prints do not get damage while making their way to you. So I highly recommend that you order all your print designs at once and not one design at a time.

Buttons/Pins:

Wacky Buttons – No minimum! Which completely sold me and I’ll be placing my order soon! Five stars on their reviews so I’m sure when I get my first order I’ll be more than content. Either way, I’ll make sure to give them my own review.
Pure Buttons – They have a minimum of five, but they jump from 5 to 25 to 50 to 100 and so on and so forth. They are a bit more expensive but the more you order, the lower your cost. Great reviews!
Note: Both offer more than just your average buttons. They have pocket mirrors, fridge magnets, clothing magnets, etc. They also have custom button packaging. I guess it just depends on how many and how much you are willing to spend.

All work under CMYK color mode. Acornpress and Wacky Buttons are the only ones that I know that don’t use this color mode on their templates. However, I was able to get in touch with a rep from Wacky Buttons and they do recommend you convert their template into CMYK mode. Since more than half of their customers don’t have an editing program where they can switch from RGB mode to CMYK mode, they have chosen to have their template in RGB mode and they themselves convert the file. I know from experience that this does have a color effect on your final product when printed. The colors are a bit darker. You are only able to notice if you have both color modes printed out and side by side for comparison. It’s not a big deal (unless you are super picky), but just thought I should point this out.

I hope this helps and the best of luck lovely! I’ll probably update or add to this post if I make another best friend (◍•ᴗ•◍)♡ ✧*。

Skin tone swatches, for use as a resource.

Spudfuzz on Deviantart made the original resource, which I modified to be a bit more realistic. She gave me permission to post this.

These swatches, like all art resources, should be used as a “jumping off point!” All colours are relative, and change with lighting conditions. As they are now, these swatches work best for adoptables, character lineups, and other art where local colour is important.

This is amazing!!!!!!!!!!

Are you creating a fictional language? Do you need help coming up with words that sound like they fit with what you’ve come up with so far?

Just put your fictional language in the model text, type some words in the translation text, and click “translate”. It’ll “translate” whatever words you put in using patterns from your sample text.

These calculators aren’t perfect, but they can help you figure out:

  • How long it will take your characters to get somewhere based on how fast they’re going,
  • how far your characters moved based on how fast they were going and on how long they were moving,
  • how fast your characters need to move to reach a certain distance in a specified time

The calculator was meant for cyclists, but you can use it to get estimates for other things too.

Another amazing resource!

This can create a random calendar for you or you can input the year, the number of months, the name of the months, the number of moons, the number of days in a week, the names of each day, and more.

You can even save the data for your calendar so that when you go back to the generator, all you have to do to get to your calendar is paste the data.

This is a new resource that’s still in beta, so it’ll probably be updated in the coming months.

This map maker is easy to use and free. You can add different climates, mountains, trees, towns, cities, text, and notes. For an example of these maps, look at the quick map I made for this post’s header.

These are done great and unique resources. I can say from experience that they are quite helpful.
