so when he opened the front door of his trailer to see you standing there with a bouquet of flowers in your hand — carnations to be exact — he was beyond confused. his already big dewy brown eyes only growing wider when you offered them to him, an embarrassed smile tugging at the corners of your lips. 

“you got me… flowers?” his brows knit together beneath his bangs but sure enough the confusion is quickly replaced with a grin; a smile so pure you wished it would never go away.

“well, you’re always buying me things, and i know it’s not the typical thing to give your boyfriend. especially one as rambunctious as you. but, you’re also not a typical boyfriend either…” you start, realising how weird it was for you to bring eddie flowers, and being to turn away. “if you don’t want them, i’m sure i could give them to max’s mom-”

though before you can take even a step in the other direction, eddie’s snatching the flowers from your hands and breathing in their scent. his eyes peaking out over the mixture of red petals. “they are beautiful… but not nearly as beautiful as you,” he scrunches his nose at you, leaning forward to press his lips against yours, but not before mumbling, “i love them… and i love you.”

The prospect of sneaking around enlightened something in Eddie—you couldn’t say you hated it, but it was a lot to take in all at once. After the agreement was settled, you both dove in head first. it was midnight on a friday, now turned saturday, and the low sound of rain hitting the roof of your trailer had been accompanying you as you watched your film. usually, eddie would be with you, curled up in your bed, watching whatever movie it was that you had picked out with his hands trailing through your hair because he knew you loved it.
