Masterlist

Welcome! You can call me N or Flower. I am a relatively new writer (fanfic wise). This is my side blog so replies/follows will come from dulcelibra. I write basically anything. Fluff, angst etc. So far the fandoms I’ve written for are: Top Gun Maverick, Outer Range, and House of the Dragon. I am open writing for other fandoms so just let me know if you have any request. My inbox is always open. I try to upload or post regularly, even if it is just posting ideas for feedback. That being said, I would appreciate patience. Also I do have works that are ambiguous readers but as a black woman is important for me to represent that in my writing. Please like, reblog, and follow if you see anything you like 🫶🏽🫶🏽

good wife
Pair: Bradley “Rooster” Bradshaw x fem!oc
Summary: As their marriage goes through a rough patch, Nia finds her reevaluating her relationship with Bradley, and what she signed up for when she said ‘I Do’. Slight character study based on some lyrics from good wife by Kacey Musgraves
Check out my Rhett Abbott fic here. And follow me on my writing blog: dulcewrites
Warnings: just angst… Bradley being slightly manipulative if you squint. Both parties being a bit a toxic. Ideas of misogyny/patriarchy in contexts of marriage.
Notes: Hiiii. This is not only my first Top Gun fic but first fic in general, so go easy on me lol. I was revisiting star-crossed, and the idea just sort of popped into my head. If this goes how I hope it does, I’d love to make a series based on songs from this album (maybe just songs in general). I wanted to this to be less dialogue and more introspection. I left the ending slightly ambiguous.. so let me know how y’all like it!! ❤️ also I see all my characters as black but the descriptions for this oc are pretty vague.

One of my favorite scenes is when they first introduced Glen Powell’s character Hangman in that bar scene with Coyote, who dared him to hit bullseye with the dart and he did not just once but three times, even when Coyote covered his eyes! and it’s all real by Glen! Even Tom Cruise was amazed cos we know Maverick was watching from the bar. Plus that high five after was a nice touch haha…. solidified how confident and cool Jake Seresin is. Can’t wait for the HQ clip of this full scene to be released. Here’s a funfact he shared about the scene below cut plus Tom’s reaction.

Tight restrictions on abortion have already placed the procedure out of reach for many Black women in America — obstacles that will grow even more daunting if the landmark Roe v. Wade is overturned.
Across the Black Belt — the Southern states where the echoes of slavery reverberate in legislation that perpetuates political and social inequities — women have long confronted overwhelming costs and logistical obstacles in seeking reproductive health care.
Earlier this week a leaked draft of a Supreme Court opinion signaled the end of abortion rights nationally, which would leave an already marginalized group, who seek abortion care at a higher rate, with less access to family planning services, resulting in poor health, education and economic outcomes, according to researchers, experts in family planning and advocates for reproductive justice.
“Women are going to die,” said Dalton Johnson, who owns an abortion clinic in Huntsville, Alabama. “It might not be as many as it was in the ’70s because we have medication abortions. There are groups that are going to have access to those — whether legally or illegally. But everybody’s not going to be able to do that and women are going to die.”
If Roe falls, many women in the South will turn to a network of grassroots organizations and advocacy groups led by Black women that has emerged out of necessity to fill gaps in health care coverage and the social safety net. These groups have already been helping women who struggle to compile the cash — and coordinate the time away from work, child care and transportation — that are necessary to get the procedure.

An organization I like to donate to is the National Clearinghouse for the Defense of Battered Women, the only org in the US that works to defend victims of domestic violence who have been charged with crimes, usually for harming their abusers in self-defense, “failing to protect” their children in dv situations or “kidnapping” their children while fleeing violence. Thinking about them as we’re thinking about legal retaliation against domestic violence victims!

We need to insist on calling depp fans what they are: woman haters, lovers of abuse, allies to rapists, transphobes, biphobes, homophobes. Every depp supporter is a woman hater. Every depp supporter is a friend to rapists everywhere. Every depp supporter would throw trans people and bisexual women and lesbians under the bus for someone they’ve never met. Every depp supporter is a worthless, brainless fucking dupe who cares more about Disney movies than women’s rights. Let’s not let them forget that.
