Veni was on the run again. Funny how everytime she escapes Conton, she gets dragged right back. Surely they didn’t care that much about catching her..then again she just goes right back to hopping timelines after she gets out of the city. In any case, she did what she usually does and ran from her aggressor, losing them rather quickly, though she knew they’d be right behind her if she slowed down.

The girl skidded to a halt and jumped behind the counter of the nearest shop, hoping she wouldn’t be spotted.

The tall pasty Space Lizard appears out of the kitchen door investigating what had just made the noise outside of his kitchen, he then notes the small earthling gal “Excuse me miss~” he says with his charismatic British accent “I believe you’re on the wrong side of the counter to order~” he gives a slight chuckle at saying that while examining the girl curious as to why she had run into his café and jumped over his counter

he notes how it appears that she seems as though she was just running “Maybe she was jogging?” he thought to himself in his head….He awaited the small girl’s answer

Veni takes one glance at the tall icejin and immediately starts to freak out. Her frail body backed up to the corner of the shop, slightly shaking. She certainly did not expect the clerk to look like that. Her hands trembled until she got a hold of a box, quickly chucking it at him along with a few other boxes. Maybe some cooking utensils as well. 

Knowing that nothing good could come from his reaction, she quickly sprinted for the nearest room. 

‘Man these shops are bigger than I remember, did they get an upgrade?’

Either way, she found a closet and messed with the door lock until she managed to get inside, closing it after her with a sharp thump. Deep down the girl knew that it would open and the clerk would snatch her out of there, and then she would run, yada yada. It was practically a cycle for her, so she knew what to expect.

The tall Space Lizard caught most of the boxes missing a few others and set them upon the ground. At this point he was extremely confused as to why she just did that. Who just goes into your own café and then throws your utensils at you?

‘I certainly did not think she’d have THAT reaction’ he thought to himself

He hears the noise of his closet being closed and immediately assumes she went inside it. Using his strange ability he bunkai teleports inside the closet ensuring that she wouldn’t be able to get out so easily

“I believe you owe me an apology as well as an explanation” he said aloud to her looking straight into her eyes

He notes how there’s barely enough room in the closet with both of them in there

The girl let out a sharp gasp when the icejin suddenly appeared in the closet with her.

…then she let out a loud scream that anyone outside the store could hear.

Her kicks probably wouldn’t do anything to him, but she was too distraught right now to think straight. Not to mention, blowing up the entire shop even as a last resort to get out of there seemed like a bad idea that could also end up getting her harmed as well. All she could do is curl up even more.

“Hey…w-we can talk about this, no need to get rowdy..I’m sorry okay? Just please let me go..”

He covered his ears from the loud scream that pierced through the walls of his café. The kicks didn’t damage him whatsoever…thankfully…He uncovers his hears once she’s done screaming.

“Indeed we can talk about this, that’s what I’ve been trying to do, before you decided to throw my own supplies at me, run into my closet and kick me~”

He chuckles lightly before crouching down to meet her by eye level

“Now miss, can you please explain to me why you decided to run inside my café and decided to hide in my closet?”

He looks at her with a concerned look

She backed up against the wall until she couldn’t anymore, the icejin clearly taking up most of the space in the already crowded closet. There was no choice but to come clean…or was there? She wasn’t a big fan of lying (not to mention how terrible she was at it) but modifying the story a bit wouldn’t hurt. After all, her plan was to get out of here as fast as she can.

“I…there were some Patrollers chasing me, I had no choice but to run and hide..“she paused with a sigh. “Pretty sure they were intending to harm me..” Though still cramped, the girl had enough space to tuck some hair behind her ear.

“Listen, I’m really sorry for intruding into your shop, but I can’t just go back out there!”

He listened to everything she said making sure not to miss any details. He obviously wanted the full story, she seemed scared and he only wanted to help her.

"So there were fellow patrollers chasing you? And you believed that they were going to intend harm upon you?”

He ponders for a bit, this definitely wasn’t impossible there are some pretty aggressive patrollers out there, most notably the nutz gang, he looks at her for a bit

“Well it doesn’t appear that this cute gal threw the first punch” he thought to himself

“If you’d like to stay here that’s fine, I understand. You don’t want to fight and you don’t want to get hurt, although if they do try to fight you, I’ll fight them for you~!”

He winked at her, hoping to calm her down and make her feel less scared

“What? What are you thinking? Those are your coworkers! You literally just met me five seconds ago from trespassing in your restaurant!” Its not that Veni didn’t want any help, but this random Patroller offering to fight his fellow workers just for her? A criminal? She didn’t buy it. It could easily be a trap. As if she already hasn’t seen enough of those in her time in the city.

“Just…just leave me in here until they leave! I’m not going out there no matter what!”

The White lizard stood up

"That is true that I did meet you just recently, but I can definitely tell that you aren't lying. I can tell that your reason for running isn't a lie because of the the way you acted and well.... Your eyes, but I'll explain later~"

He stepped out the closet before turning around to face her

"You are right, I don't have definitive proof to trust you...but I can tell you're in danger. As a Gentleman, it's my duty to get you out of said danger, do not fret, I won't tell them you're in their. I'll try my best to lead them off your trail~"

He gave a smile to her before closing the closet door and heading to the front of the store to try and divert the patrollers to a different location
