sometimes when i want to think abt alternate endings to webh i think abt a version of act i where tua chooses to have someone let nick know that they’re in sunshine tidings and that they have mira and that everyone was healthy. like instead of this ⤵️

tua actually Does make a call. the reality is that tua does not have that relationship w him at this time and is very determined to do this Themself, so there’s no real way to justify it in the context of the moment, i just like thinking about it. mostly the idea of nick going from being a self-pitying crank to hauling absolute ass to make it from boston to sunshine tidings in a matter of hours. he would have probably broken something getting there as fast as possible BUT tua wouldnt have gone into a fugue state and walked through the glowing sea so maybe worth it

still kind of funny that tua’s fake husband in when in rome is kellogg, who nick immediately recognizes, but who tua doesn’t know at all, so they’re fine to keep him at arm’s length w their usual healthy amount of distrust while nick immediately tackles him and beats his ass in the front yard

i should also add that nick's involvement with mira's upbringing makes tua feel one thousand times more confident that they aren't gonna fuck up this kid's life by proxy of being Her Parent. it is so meaningful that he's there to help teach mira how to ride a bike or write in cursive or read poetry. and tua is attracted to nick for other reasons but this is definitely on the list.

#txt#vaultblogging#tua does hold a sentiment later that if she were to have another kid they would want it to be nick's. which obviously Couldn't Work but-#-does make him feel some kind of way.#in tua's defense she probably has this thought after watching him fix a sink or throw a baseball or something dumb like that.#like not to be crass but that sentiment absolutely does not come from her brain.
