It’s a collab with @spookyfoot, based on a Greek myth of Pygmalion and Galatea, with an academic/romantic/19th century twist :D Read spooky’s fic on AO3. And enjoy Yuuri as a sculpture coming to life, Victor as a genius sculptor, Mila as Aphrodite and Yurio as Cupid, with a ton of symbolism sprinkled all over the mix ;)

The photographer in Otabek was moved first, seeing the lines of the profile, the pushed-back golden hair and the slender form, all cast against the dingy white stone of the buildings behind him. Then the expression — the watchful eyes, the downturned mouth that disdained its own hopes, the jut of the small chin. Part of the night scene, yet somehow cast in relief against it, like a figure stepping from a painting to address the viewer.

Appraising green eyes slid to the side, narrowing. “What do you want?” the young man growled, in heavily-accented French.

The man in Otabek bloomed to life, curling flames moving through his body at the familiar tones. He swallowed hard, setting his jaw and tightening his grip on the rail behind him. “You speak Russian?” he asked, the language a sweet ache on his tongue. Not the solid, earthy Kazakh of his childhood, but not French either, as effervescent and bad for the head as too much champagne.

My @borntomakearthistoryzine story! I’m proud of this one, and grateful for the opportunity to go a little more artsy and experimental.

Yuuri toys with the soft hair at the nape of Viktor’s neck, Viktor exhaling against his skin. If he could, he would dissolve himself in an instant, be drawn like the air into Viktor’s lungs and live nestled there in his blood, in his heart, always.

Between one sweet thought about Viktor and the next, Yuuri’s eyes fall closed; he sleeps, too.

Love letters in Spain are a Nikiforov family tradition.

In January of 1853, a portrait of Victor Nikiforov is locked in an attic, abandoned and forgotten. For over a century, Victor sits there; his paint crumbles and fades, and the world moves on around him—until he’s found by an art restorer named Yuuri Katsuki, whose loving touch brings the portrait of Victor back to life in more ways than one.
