Wait.  Wait.

Wait.

I know that telephone pole.

I know that telephone pole intimately because I’m the one who broke it.

Thats the pole next to Sycamore Jr. High, in between the jr high school and Pipkins, where I had my second car accident.  A woman t-boned my car and drove me into that pole in 2008 and it took them years to actually take it down.

That black metal pole you see just beyond the broken phone pole is a “Now Leaving/Welcome To Blue Ash, Ohio” sign, visible at 5520 Cooper Road on google maps.

(the flag is there, btw, because its the starting point for the Blue Ash/Montgomery July 4th parade.)

The internet is so staggeringly immense that I can’t help but be disproportionately delighted when things like this happen.

“So, Mister…GRAAAAGH Underhill-by-Sackville, is it?” “Indeed.” “You’re an Orc, but you don’t mention any clan….” “Oh, I’m culturally Hobbitish, I was adopted at a very young age.  And I’m very keen on this position you have open at your trading house.” “The guard position?” “Heavens, no.  I barely know which end of a sword goes into the miscreant.  I am a certified accountant, and eager to make my mark in respectable society.”

I want to read about the Halfling who was responsible for Recent Events, personally.

if you must know, her name is Tabitha Smallburrow and over a handful of years she adopted 3 orcs, 2 tieflings, 7 tabaxi (had mistaken them for a litter of kittens when they were put up for adoption in the neighboring city) and finally one very unwilling and fully grown dwarf

I was trying to find out if Kermit was eligible to be pope and I found a blog that says he's the perfect example of a catholic priest

March 16th, 2017 marks the 14th year anniversary to Rachel Corrie’s death where she was killed by an Israeli bulldozer that ran her over while she was trying to stop it from demolishing a home of a Palestinian family in Gaza.

Rest in Peace Rachel.

you guys constantly going on and on about equity and inclusion and then post shit like this?? People have life threatening allergies and it’s a joke cause they want to enjoy the same shit? Don’t gatekeep food you weirdos

We're not gatekeeping food. We're pointing out that sometimes you can't have everything.

Cooking is a form of chemistry and it takes time and training, whether from a family member or a teacher, to get good at it. And, like with other forms of chemistry, there are ultimately some things that cannot be replaced in a recipe and have it still be the same recipe.

You see, there's nothing wrong with asking about substitutes if you're not yet skilled enough at cooking to work out your own substitutes based on the recipe. However, a recipe that would require you to substitute 90% of the ingredients and, indeed, has the name of at least one of your allergens in the name of the dish is not the place to do so. You're better off seeing if someone with similar dietary habits (like, in this case, vegans) have a similar recipe you can follow.

And, speaking from experience, even then, sometimes there isn't going to be anything that you can eat that can come close to the recipe.

Does it stink, being left out? Of course it does. But one of the most important lessons we first learn when leaving toddler-hood and are reminded of time and again as we grow, not everything is about you. And that's okay.

Sincerely, a person who's food allergies prevent them from enjoying eggnog.

Sometimes you just have to take the loss.

The eggnog is a good example. It's mostly eggs and milk ... so it's just not going to work as-is for vegans and people with egg and milk allergies. And yes, there are vegan options. Helpful for some, but it's not going to be the same as regular eggnog. And even then, some people are going to be left out - a lot of the vegan alternatives would use either soy milk or nut milks like almond milk - which contain common allergens. Plenty of people have multiple allergies, and dairy, egg, soy, and nuts are all extremely common.

Don't let this die. Taylor Swift is the Pollution Queen now. We need meme edits with her photoshopped onto backgrounds of wildfire-ravaged landscapes and oil refineries chugging out black smoke.

Photo of smudgy black eye shadow? That's THE Taylor Swift-inspired look now, it represents fossil fuels.

We need parodies of Taylor Swift songs about pollution and killing polar bears.

Give her representatives a full-time job for the rest of their lives defending her from the phrase "Pollution Queen." Make this meme a the figurehead of an entire fleet of other celebrity-terrorizing memes.

"But this doesn't dismantle the system that—" Shut. Don't care. Isn't it great that such a huge portion of environmental damage is being done by human individuals with egos, whose feelings can be hurt when people are mean?

Money can save you from physical harm, but can it save you from looking ridiculous?
