Hey im just wondering

Yo know how Nanu in Pokemon Sun/Moon lives with like 12 meowths? And also there’s a lady on one of the routes in… Akala, I think, who lives with like 8 stufful?

Reblog this and put in the tags which single pokemon you’d adopt like 10 of and contentedly live with. Bonus points if you say why and what you’d do with them. I’m curious…

sometimes u just gotta say “okey dokey” and just like.. rely on urself.. take things as impersonally as u can.. love and let go.. move on.. try and find all the good things, soak those in. and that’s all u can do! and sometimes, that’s enough

Actually, if you’d read my tags on the original post, you’d have seen that I said that while Dazzler may not be strong enough in execution, she is certainly strong enough in concept. That is, it would be hard to adopt any of her stories for the big screen, because they are generally so weak, but the concept? The concept is gold.

One of the great things about having a character who is based in pop music is that they never have to be outdated. You don’t have to make Dazzler disco or 80s or whatever, you can write her as a contemporary artist, and give her a sound that enables her + her story to speak to a contemporary audience. One of the most important things about a Dazzler movie would necessarily be the soundtrack, but if they could get that right, there’s nothing stopping them from making a great movie.

There are a couple of things they could do with the story, but by far the most interesting would probably be a commentary on the nature of media these days. Have Mojo as the Big Bad, the head of Ali’s record label, and have her be complicit in the harm he is trying to do. Show us, in the beginning, a Dazzler who is unconnected to mutant affairs and unconcerned with other people in general. Have her change the channel when the X-Men talk about the bigotry they face. Have her wave away a Val Cooper who is trying to convince her to use her powers. And then let her grow. Use Dazzler as the embodiment of the shallow, media-obsessed youngster who doesn’t care about anything that isn’t glittery or doesn’t come with a string of zeros attached, and then let her grow. Let her understand how complicit she was in almost letting Mojo’s plan succeed, let her recognize the repercussions of her inaction, and set it all to a pop soundtrack and with the glitziest pink and silver aesthetic anywhere.
