THE TOPIC OF MOTHERHOOD IS A TOUCHY SUBJECT .   admittedly ,   having kids was never a priority to pamela   ( but it  is  something she’d wanted ,   someday ) .   but upon learning she was  infertile ,   it took a toll on her ,   mentally .

it’s apparent ,   in how  happy  she was when rose and thorn were successes  ( even when she rescued thorn ,   as well ) ,   that she’d strived to be able to bear children for a long time   ( even if it was just a secondary or tertiary goal to her eco terrorist wants ) .   when they were born ,   she had made sure they were babysat by her finest ,   most intelligent plant nannies   ( being as she needed to work ).   but when she was with them  ?    she seemed to  glow  with a motherly radiance that had never been permitted ,   before .

there would be times she’d stay late ;   a botany book in one hand ,   a babe cradled in the other arm .   the other baby would likely be fast asleep upon her lap ,   and she would  smile .   a rare moment of complete  SERENITY ,   out of the chaos mankind seemed to constantly live in .

which is why keeping rose ,   hazel ,   and   ( eventually )   thorn out of the world’s view was so  important  to her .   they were beings just like  her ;   and while she could manipulate her skin pigment ,   they  could not .   so ,   their vulnerability skyrocketed ,   just from that .   alongside powers they couldn’t control ,   and the itching sensation from the green’s whispers that they weren’t very safe  ?    it’s no wonder pam refused to let them out .

after realizing their departure ,   she’d tear apart the city in search of them .   and then the next city .   and the next .   but not even the  green  would tell her .   and so devastation took hold ;   but she is  POISON IVY ,   and she can survive it all .   so she puts on a poker face ,   and continues on .   even if the only children she’d ever known ,   had left her .

more and more plants would be added to the greenhouse ,   afterward .   to fill in the spaces that her daughters had left behind .
